anyone ever own and drive a hearse for personal use?

Wondering. Not sure what the legal situation is with that.

 

I used to own a 1959 Caddie hearse. There are no legal limitations to owning one that I know of. I still miss that thing, had a great lot of fun in it including sex in the back.

 

Hopefully with a live person.

 

When my dad was a kid, the family car was seriously a retired hearse. I've always thought that was ridiculously cool, but what I want is an amblewagon from the 60s/70s.

I always loved them, even as a kid. It'd be rad to own one and just cruise around in it.

 

I never owned or been in a hearse, but my pap told me that when he was young him and his friends would drive around in a hearse and get wasted in the back. Hahah

 

A female friend of mine had a 1986 Buick Superior Hearse; it got hit by a train, though.

 

I would love to drive one!!!!

She walked away without a scratch. It was a "recreational" vehicle so there was no body in the back!

 

Man! She was lucky! It would be terrifying to be hit by a train.

 

Curious whether someone has been killed in a hearse on the way to a funeral. There's probably a news story somewhere about it happening.

I have trouble backing up a regular car............I do no think this would be a good thing for me to own.

Yes. Looking on the web, it happened but it appears to be a result of natural causes. At least it wasn't a horrible wreck.

My neighbor growing up drove one... I thought it was cool.

 

Driving a hearse always reminds me of "Herald and Maude".

 

Hey, don't badmouth my brother's car. I like riding in it and think it is a good looking car.


But then I like to walk my dog in the cemetery also. :2thumbsup:

 

I noticed that ambulance looked exackly/ alot like the Adams family hearse... Bit shocking, going to a hospital in a car thats also the same as a hearse.. I suppose...

Black estate cars freak me out a bit because of the association.
