Nirvana playing again tonight.....with Paul McCartney replacing Kurt.

They won't be playing Nirvana songs, but still though. Out of everyone they could have picked, they picked Paul fucking McCartney. I don't get it.

Tonight at a one off benefit for Hurricane Sandy, a 70-year-old knight of the British honour will front Nirvana, a band famous for its lead singer’s suicide, naked baby album cover and a song called “Rape Me.”
The Guardian reports that it’s been 20 years since Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have performed together, and that Sir Paul McCartney will join them in New York to run through a new song they’ve secretly been working on.
The idea was Grohl’s, but McCartney was reportedly a little lost when the Foo Fighters singer asked him to jam with him and some friends.
“I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said: ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?’ said McCartney. “And somebody whispered to me: ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.
The show’s going to happen tonight at Madison Square Garden, where Sir Paul will perform alongside young-guns like The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jov

 

Well I hope he's better than he was at the fucking last thing he did. That was dire! (I can't remember if it was the olympics or the jubilee!

Not sure why it is called Nirvana. Perhaps the song(s) will be in the vein of Nirvana's music, otherwise why call them new Nirvana songs?

 

I was gonna say, if I lived in ny, I'd probably wanna go to the show. Then again, I'm broke so probably wouldn't be able to. Tickets were expensive and I just read that ticket scalpers made so much money re-selling the tickets. That's kinda fucked up. The money is supposed to go to charity.
Anwyays, I don't think I'm entirely offended by mccartney. I'm a bit of a fan. Who would you have chosen to play with them? I think someone way more offensive could have been chosen...

 

I hoped King Diamond would join them.

It's funny because I remember Kurt saying "I love the Beatles but I hate Paul McCartney."
