33 Michigan Schools Close Because of Rumors of Mayan Doomsday.

33 Michigan schools have closed two days early for the holidays because of Mayan doomsday rumors and concern over about possible school violence.

Lapeer Community Schools superintendent Matt Wandrie has been quoted as saying, "Given the recent events in Connecticut, there have been numerous rumors circulating in our district, and in neighboring districts, about potential threats of violence against students. Additionally, rumors connected to the Mayan calendar predicted end of the world on Friday have also surfaced."

Students will start again on January 7, 2013.

"Thang god your in English???? " America is the safest place in the world, and they teach "English" very well, apparently better than "ENGLAND!" I'm not hating on England what so ever, love your country. But why put down the States when whoever needs help in the world, our "dangerous" country is the first to help? Just saying. I grew up in DETROIT, yes Detroit, went to 1000's of raves and I'm 37 and have never even had a finger put on me, let alone harmed. Think before you judge, I've been there, done that and so more. And the schools were not closed because of the Mayan Calender, they were closed because of one sick individual out of 300,000,000 that decided to shoot up a school and then himself. Kids were killed 20+, please don't call us stupid mthrfcks, it was a tragedy and should not be joked about. Idk where you get your info, but here we would call it the National Enquirer..... (not reliable) I know the shooting was in Connecticut, lots of schools were shut down bc of this tragedy. Now if there were schools shut down bc of the"Myan Superstitions" well we all know that's nonsense, and if those schools did indeed shut down bc of that they must have been what we call here "hillbillies" lol, and I wasn't aware of it. My apologies for mishap. But it still doesn't disprove my initial point of being stupid, or "dangerous"

 

Scotty, the shooting to which you are referring happened in Connecticut. You are the one who needs to get his information in order. The schools that were closed down in Michigan were purported of doing so due to their silly superstitions.
