    Hey, everyone.

I have really mixed feelings about these things myself, but went ahead and signed anyway. I figured, what the hell, if it gets enough signatures, the Big O will at least have to get on TV and say "No because...just no," (instead of the reality which is "No because prison industrial complex") and maybe spur more states to legalize anyway.

    So, here's the link: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/legalize-marijuana-federal-level/St1MJKM5

I for one would want cannabis to remain illegal... Once it is legalized, the price will go up. If you're in an area where cops tend to strip search people often, I would understand why people would want it legalized.

I can foresee a lot of people calling me an idiot because of this post.

i'd gladly pay a little more to be able to walk into the store and buy it rather than not get to smoke at all because everyone is terrified to admit they sell it.

This has already been done, it got well over 35000 signatures and the response was basically that the President had no intention of legalizing it. Doing this again is a waste of time.

I don't think you're an idiot, but I'm curious about your rationale. How would legalization make prices go up uniformly? I would guess this would all depend on how it's implemented.

I actually have a concern about legalization too, which is that "Big Tobacco" (or similar) could just decide to switch crops and be "Big Marijuana," and fill our herb with a lot of chemical crap...even get Monsanto in on the action, making GM herb that becomes truly dangerous. Legalization is probably just the first step toward having cannabis that is safe, fairly priced, etc. and that can be used without harassment.

There has been at least three White House petitions and the only thing that has been accomplished is the DEA now has places to look if they want to.

I would think it would be the other way around . I would think the price would go down . A lot of people would grow there own . Just like alchol during probation . desert rat

well, that's assuming that growing your own would also be legalized.

interesting point though, i bet people on probation do drink a lot more, since they can't really do other drugs when they're subject to testing.

If it is legalized it would haft to be to legal to grow , and sell to any one over 18 . Illegal to drive , fly a plane , operate machinery , ect. , while high . I tried pot in the early 90 s , all it did was make me hungry and parnoied . desert rat
