I'm not new around here, but haven't been here in a year, maybe two. And before that took a five year absence from this place. Just reintroducing myself. HeLLoOO.. ie:
I have been gone quite some time. The only bit of me that remains as proof is the first chapter of a book I started writing in 1995. http://www.hippy.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=187 When I realized it had 17,000 hits I figured it might be time to reveal the rest of the story. Of course I have to thank Skip for being such an amazing host. I didn't realize the story had actually become popular. I was originally thinking of publishing this to score a buck. But this story was never supposed to be about my personal greed. So I have returned to reveal the entire 16 chapter story just as soon as this new membership has adequate permission. This book is my gift to all people. It's fiction naturally. But it's also a blueprint. Sorry to be so wordy right out of the gate, but this thread seems like it popped up under divine intervention. If anyone happens to remember me from the Life - Marijuana Debate chat room on AOL back in the late 90s, drop me a line. I was in that chat room for 10 years, a VERY cool place. Jal and of course, Welcome back Trance!
It's about life in American after a global economic crash that hits in the 70s. Elvis is still alive, Vietnam ends early, Aids never happens and all drugs and prostitution are essentially legal. I don't dwell on the anarchy following the crash, just the reconstruction. So it's not the typical post-apocalyptic nuclear meltdown story with mercs chasing mutants. Most of the book was finished before 2000. Thanks for the consideration. Jal
