I've been looking at some glass plugs and was wondering what some peoples experience was with them.are they heavier than acrylic plugs or easy to break like some glad pieces are.

I used to wear a pair of glass plugs and I never noticed a difference. With all jewelry, you want to be somewhat careful, but glass plugs aren't as fragile as you would think.I dropped mine thousands of times and they never shattered, so as long as you don't intentionally smash them on the floor, you should be fine. :)

They were a little heavier. I used to be at 1/2 but after not wearing them for so many years they are back to about double aught. if I wear something heavier my ears slowly stretch back out and I will lose the plugs. so you may run into that with heavier plugs.

I think they are only heavier if you are on the bigger side, but it all depends. In my honest opinion I don't really feel the difference between my 00g amethyst plugs and my 2g glass plugs. It doesn't matter if you think your plug don't feel heavy, if you wear your plugs all the time your ear will stretch, albeit very slowly. My amethyst plugs are flared but they will slip out once in a while because I never take them out. Never ever go acrylic or wood that stuff can harbor bacteria and you should clean your jewelry at least once a week.
