ive done minimal research on anemia and found that i match a lot of the symptoms. has anyone here ever been anemic, and if so could you describe what it was like? i get really bad sleep at night, and as a result im a zombie during the day, ive been really depressed, shortness of breath, irritability, not focused. i dunno if its the insomnia causing the depression, or if the anemia is causing the insomnia and the depression, or maybe im just depressed and screwed for life. im going for a blood test soon as doctors open to see my hemocratic count, i hope im anemic

I'm anemic, but I have a really rare type. It doesn't really affect me daily, but it did result in me having to get my gallbladder removed at age 10.

I get tired more easily than most people, I have a lower immune system, and when I don't take care of myself (exercising, eating right), I get really really lethargic and I gain weight easily. I also have jaundice (a yellowish tint to the skin) that flares up when I'm not in good health. The whites of my eyes are not white, they're yellow, hehe.

I hope you're not anemic! *much love*

I was anemic during both of my pregnancies. Mostly, it made me tired, moody and achy all the time.

There's a supplement called Floradix that you can try. It tastes horrible, but it helped get my iron count back up.

Also concentrate on getting iron-rich foods in your diet, along with liberal amounts of vitamin C to help with absorption. Spinach and legumes are good sources, as are flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, and molasses.

    Feel better!
