I finally got around to repairing this thing. This is the first welded steel buckle I made. I haven't used it in years because I dropped it once and the bar snapped off of it because the drill rod I made it from was brittle at the welds. I replaced it with a piece of mild steel; now it's as good as new. I'm not sure I'm going to use it though, because it weighs so much. It weighs at least 1 1/2 pounds. That might not seem like much weight, but when you attach it to a belt and strap it on, it tends to pull your pants down, not hold them up. I like this thing though, so I'll probably just deal with it for as long as I can stand it.

Nice. I like the idea of wearing your own art.
