Today of all days, on the day of the US presidential inauguration ceremony, how did I manage to guess that Diane Sawyer of ABC World News would be tempted to run a story in support of the UK royals?

Here are the tweets I sent while watching ABC World News re-broadcast on BBC News.

Then Diane Sawyer read a story about Prince Harry coming back from Afghanistan. Diane did not even mention never mind give equal prominence to all those brave American soldiers who risked more and gave more in Afghanistan than Prince Harry ever did.

No what Diane Sawyer did was parrot the same old stream of pro-royal, anti-republican propaganda which has been spewing out of the BBC since it started broadcasting.

When ordinary things happen to the royals it isn't true public news - but reporting the royals' daily life as it if it was news amounts to pro-royal propaganda with the aim to promote the royals and embed their position politically and to undermine republics like the USA.

 

Well you have been brainwashed by people like Diane Sawyer feeding you pro-royal propaganda.

I agree. It is propaganda. I dont see it as anti republic though. Harry and his coptor antics were also reported on some radio station this morning. News reporters get feeds and they pick the stories.
