Dating/flirting with people who speak different language

Obviously there has to be some crossover, but have any of you ever done this?

 

I have not dated anyone who speaks another language but back when I was a chef at an Ethiopian Restaurant. A regular customer from some place in Africa often flirted very heavy with me. He was really handsome so I flirted back but I did not understand Swahili which was the language he spoke. That was back when I was 28. He once goosed me when I was dancing to a local band. It irritated me so I quit flirting with him. I did belly dance to local bands when I partied, and back then I was not the fat old hag, that I am today.

 

When I was 22 I was on holiday with a mate in Magaluf and one night we pulled a couple of senoritas. My mate's one spoke good English but the one I was with hardly spoke any.
Anyway we had a great night drinking and dancing, me and my senorita seemed to be communicating just on staring into each others eyes, holding hands and kissing lol, occasionaly her mate would act as translator but she was busy getting her tongue down my mates throat.
The reason why I'll always remember this night so vividly is because when we took em back to our apartment, my mate & his senorita took the bedroom and me and my girl were on the pull out couchbed. So me and my girl are getting down to it, next thing I can here is my mates one crying on the balconey and my mate trying to console her. My girl shouts something to her in Spanish, asking her if she's ok I presume, she answers her back with an answer that is ok with my senorita and with that she's all over me and we have a very passionate 60minutes lol. All the while my mate is apologising and consoling his girl on the balconey.
The girls leave about 5am, when they're gone I ask my mate what happened, he says that when they we're in the bedroom he was taking the girls dress off when he asked her "I wonder how much this is gonna cost me??!!!) he said it as a joke but I think it lost something in translation lol.
So that night I always look back on as actions got you a lot further than words could ever do :love:

As long as they can speak some of the languages i do, or vice versa, then it's fine.

I would find it a little weird if we couldn't exchange any words.

 

Yes... body language is the most prevalent way to create attraction.

I've had fun with girls for which we've never been able to exchange any real conversation... it's possible, but not in the long term IMO.

There was one absolutely stunning girl in Tenerife who didn't speak any english & I only knew a couple of silly phrases like:

buena ojos, follamos?

en tu case o en la mia?

eso no es lo que tu madre dijo a noche

 

I flirt primarily with body language and I can't stop myself from doing it with every other female I see. Quite often they flirt back. There are still language barriers when it comes to gestures; but physical interest is fairly primal and universal.

But I see a ton of inter-national couples at work and sometimes they don't speak each other's language well at all -- and it does make me wonder how they are together.
I just don't see how deep of a connection you can make with someone if you don't know their thoughts and opinions..

 

In general it's even easier to flirt with english speaking ladies. They don't expect you to say always the right thing once they find out you're not communicating in your mothers tongue and so they also tolerate it a little better when you happen to make a more cliché (but not less genuine) remark

 

yeah, I know what you're saying about the body language thing. I met this girl at a swing dancing event. We can both speak each others languages to the degree that would count as fluently if you were talking business, but not necessarily at the real legit level.

I normally stumble over my words a little in french at the best of times though, but when I'm actually a little nervous its kind of a hard language to speak.

 

I work with some females that come from various parts of the world & they speak in english & their own & its a turn on listening to a language that sounds diferent & sexy. Some speak good English while others have a few problems using the right words to describe things thou. But I tell them if they are using wrong words or tell them what they should say to mean it in so they learn right & wrong ones.
