Some people see this as a man wanting to find his own way through perseverance and others see it as the majority ignoring that he needs the assistance more than they do. How do you see it?
This is just one facet of society (or perhaps rather just the behaviour of any majority in general), I have hope you understand this too It only takes one to assist the man who might need it. Most in a majority that are in a hurry like to think one of the others will do that. I suppose you are always on the lookout for people that need your help in crowded areas?
I am an extremely observant individual. It comes with being a writer. I always notice what everyone else is ignoring.
What I ment is do you act upon what you are observing or do you just observe the situation and continue to go on your way (just like the majority)?
Indeed, I can tell you for a fact that most people in such a queue notice the man that has trouble just like the OP. You are only different than the rest if you act upon it, otherwise you are just making an (rather obvious) observation.
I see Europeans, because most of the people are not fat. And they look obviously Western and not Asian or African for instance.
That is how I see it. He looks like he is doing just fine. He isn't barred from the escalators. Also, who are we to assume he needs help? We shouldn't be so quick to be offended on behalf of others. If he was born without a leg, does he miss it? Not everyone is weak-willed.
Because people are programmed to act certain ways. It's very subtle. If you think "outside of the box" it's shunned.
Sometimes. Also, there are also people who shun those who act like they have no original thought of themselves. All in all why a person is shunned just depends on what the out of the box thought exactly is and perhaps how it is brought to attention more than a person is shunned merely for having an out of the box thought.
