I picked and consumed quite a few gold tops. No clue about their scientific name, but they surely enhanced reality.

 

I went on a 2 hour tirade about rock salt on shrooms once.

 

Much to my disappointment I had an allergic reaction to them. I wish I didn't. I once wrote a story about a bunch of hippies on shrooms. I'll post a link to it in the writers forum some time tonight.

i try to take mushrooms every few months. last time we watched Wizard of Oz with Dark Side of the Moon playing. after the album was over, we watched it to Radiohead. then when the movie was over we watched Futurama to the sounds of Radiohead.

it was a great trip.

ive eaten all kinds of mushrooms - from field shrooms picked out of cow shit to 'lab' style shrooms grown indoors in a fruiting chamber, Amanita muscaria (fly agaric). the most i've eaten is a quarter ounce at a time but i usually trip on about an eighth or so.:afro:

 

one time i let a friend trip with me and another experienced tripper. it was his first time and i thought he was prepared for a strong dose like i was taking. he is a pretty secure, down to earth individual and i thought he would be fine. after all, my first trip was much stronger than what i gave him and i was fine. i gave him an eighth.

about thirty minutes after eating them we are crossing through the threshold. he starts to babble about how we will never live in the past and then he tells me that when he was born, his parents had to sacrifice a rabbit so that he could live. he starts to break down and freak about how he didn't want to kill the rabbit.

if i had been a less experienced tripper i may have freaked out too. but i kept him calm and gave him paper and pencil to draw with. he spoke in a british accent for the next four hours (we are in texas lol) and drew the most horrifying pictures i have ever seen.- one i remember was a deformed rabbit's face with tumors and spots and wailing anguished faces in the fur. after four or so hours, he jumped up and bolted to the bathroom and locked himself in for about an hour, then he came out and laid down on the kitchen floor and looked at the tile until the trip was over.

we're gonna trip again this summer. i won't give him such a large dose next time

 

Why would they go to a dead forum instead of asking the question here where all the people are? Also, there is nothing wrong with having this topic in a 'Random Thoughts' forum...

I haven't personally taken them, but I probably should because they grow all over my yard.

I am always super careful with mushrooms... but I have studied mycology so I know how to key them out.

I have taken them in to double check with the professor as well

Love them (though I do prefer acid). Most memorable experience? Took about two doses and then took the train to union station in Toronto, on Halloween. Only time I've ever had to continually remind myself I was not dreaming and was fully awake, in public, on shrooms. Then I went to cash in with some friends a $500 dinner prize down in the distillery district at Mill St Brewery. So much fun but I have absolutely no desire to eat when tripping so I only tasted things everyone else got. Best steak I've ever eaten though, seriously.

 

shrooms always gave me the shits. spent half the trip on the toilet every time. and usually puked once or twice. better times on acid.

it was good besides that though.

what do you consider a dose? 1/8?

 

I took almost two 8ths once and had quite the time.

 

I had sex on mushrooms once. The other person was sober... Yes it was consensual and yes it was fun

 

When I lived in Hawaii I shroomed and ended up running in my socks as fast as humanly possible in the rain in the night down the street laughing my heart out! I left my socks on a fire hydrant in someone's yard that's just part of the night <3

 

That sucks they gave you the shits. Never experienced that one before. Sometimes got bad nausea though. For the potency of the batch I had then, a double dose was about 4g. That's probably a normal dose for many but they were potent, I hadn't done psilocybin in a couple of years, and I only weigh about 112 lbs. That had me getting pretty damn heavy visuals and physically feeling like Carpet from Aladdin. It was pretty gnarly.

 

The best way I like to eat them is in a milkshake or to make tea.
