there are lots of tiny towns around here and you can get satellite internet in any of them and dsl in most of them, also cable in many of them.

as for an idea of the size....i lived in a one square mile town that has the same population of the entire county that i currently live in.

It is simply liking it. If the site did not want their page listed on Facebook, it would not be there. Therefore, by not liking their page on Facebook, you are stating that you dislike this site.

this is true. i actually dislike 99.9999999999999999999999999% of things that have facebook pages.

for the record, i could create a maelstrom facebook page if i wanted; it doesn't mean you want it to be there.

 

That's stupid. My in-laws live in a town that has no grocery store, no police department, no gas station, just a bait shop and the census in 2000 was 203 people and has likely only gone down since then and they have DSL. They do have phone lines in little towns, you know.

edit: I forgot to say I won't like HF on FB either. 1) Facebook is the devil as far as Skip is concerned 2) While I am friends with many forumers and old forumers on Facebook, I still don't mention the forums on there. I, too, have posted many things that might incriminate me. I'm not paranoid enough to keep my pictures off here, but I am paranoid enough that I'm not going to just openly advertise the forums on my Facebook.

 

I would not mind it being there, even if it was all negative.

 

It is one of the benefits of being a supporter of the site being able to have a custom avatar which you can upload and use.

 

i'm not going to actually do it, if that's what you're hoping. i was just pointing out that anyone can create a page for anyone, so the existence of a hipforums page doesn't necessarily mean that said page is supported by hipforums (although i suspect that it is in this case).

 

No thanks. I never spend real money on any site. The whole point is that it should be free.

 

My town is 1,000 people which I think qualifies it as a small town and everyone uses high speed... The next closest town is about 50 people and they have high speed as well.

 

Well, someone who looked at this thread liked the page. There were 51 and now there are 52.

 

I will not like it on Facebook because I do not want certain family members invading my space here. Facebook is the only place I allow my family to hang out with me online.Even though they would love this place, I will let them discover this place on their own but I will not advertise to them my favorite hangouts.
