Today, I went to see the French Eco-Metal band Gojira. They've been getting really popular. I love how much Eco-Metal can apply to us hippies.

Anyway, I went to the show. They are really one of my favorite bands. So I was very stoked. When they came on, I was jamming harder than I have ever jammed! It kept looking like the guitarist was making eye contact with me and nodding occasionally.

I just thought I was being vain ;) But when the show was over, the guitarist looked right in my direction. He pointed and then raised his fist in the air. I was like "That really looks like he's doing that to me." So I raised my fist too. His face lit up and he started clapping. So I gave him some horns and he left stage.

After that incident, a couple of people were talking to me, and they said, "Man really looked like the guitarist was saying hey to you!" So I knew I wasn't the only one.

    My FAVORITE band!

After the show, I waited out back to hopefully meet the guys. I was freezing, but they eventually came out. I took pictures, was totally stoked about seeing them. Finally the guitarist came out, he smiled and said "You!" and I shook his hand. Greatness! I said hello in french, followed by a few how do you dos. And then went on my way.

Sorry if this isn't super interesting to you guys, but it meant a lot to me. ;) Had to share.

    Had a great night.

They are probably my favourite band at the moment, especially with this latest album L'enfant sauvage. I donr really bother with the eco message, or bother reading what the lyrics mean, but technically they are brilliant and its a good mix that sounds kind of fresh given how many umpteen death metal bands are around now aways, not that I'm sure its quite death metal, more if an indie band suddenly decided to go death metal.....in a nutshell, they sound friggin awesome.

Haha! I couldn't agree with you more. I like to put my own twist on the music when I'm listening. Not necessarily take it for what the actual message is, but something that fits what I believe. Some songs can really give me chills, then move right into pure energy.

I listen to Terra Incogna or however it's spelled. I have yet to buy the new CD because of insufficient funds.

I love how they really use the drums to speak. It's hard to describe, but they use specific accents and rhythms that do more than just keep a beat, but are entirely fitting to the feel of the song. That's the number one reason why I like them so much.
