What do you guys think? Legit or hokey paranormal bullshit? Im leaning toward the bullshit side... but I like to keep an open mind and the concept is pretty intriguing. So do you think its possible that extra-terrestrial crafts have entered the Earth's atmosphere at any point? Anyone here seen one themselves? By the way I'm not particularly interested in crop circles, I've seen enough to confidently say those have been totally debunked time and time again... I'm mainly interested in first hand experiences because in this day and age its just too easy to fake pictures or video and too hard to discern between what has been altered and faked and what has not. Im real stoned right now and I figured maybe we could get a little UFO discussion going
Never seen one myself... I've watched some documentaries on the topic that if nothing else are at least usually entertaining. Of all the supernatural phenomena, aliens are what I'm most apt to believe in. It seems very conceivable that some beings with perhaps an exponentially longer life span than us could create crafts that have entered our atmosphere and dimension.
Anything that's flying and you don't know what it is could be an Unidentified Flying Object... That being said I'm gonna lean towards them existing.
They have been hear for some time. Travis Walton meet some human looking beings in the 1970s on a U.F.O. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travis_Walton desert rat
There's a lot of conspiracies out there man, like those crop circles, aliens building the pyramids and all that shit, Roswell, Area 51.. Idk, if ANY of it is true, but I believe in other life. I think we are closer than we think to being able to have our own piloted "UFOs" looking at other planets. I'm sure at some point in time there was a creature from another planet that has viewed us, but what would it do. What would we do if we found life on another planet? Would our fear or interest guide us?
Read the book 'the communion letters' Their are a few books from the authors. Its a book of many of letters from people all over explaining their stories...pretty creep stuff at times.
I agree with you in the sense that I definitely don't believe it to be outside the realm of possibility, but I have a more difficult time believing that the phenomena has actually happened. If there has been extra-terrestrial life that has visited this planet on space-craft, it raises a whole slew of questions; who are they, why come to Earth, what kind of craft is capable of such a feat? And so on and so forth... What strikes me as fascinating is when you have highly credible people (like experienced and straight laced Air-Force pilots, politicians, government officials, etc) reporting and articulating what they believe they saw... Is every one of these cases false? Are they all just tricks of light and shadow, all of them illusions? That seems kind of unlikely to me. On the flip side of that, at this point in the game it's hard to tell if such people are reporting an actual experience they believe they had, or are fabricating a series of events to try and ride the coattails of the UFO media fervor.. I watched "I Know What I Saw" yesterday, some History Channel documentary about UFO's... I've seen several of these types of documentaries and they all seem the same to me, and at this point its hard for me to believe anything the History Channel puts out regarding this pseudo-paranormal shit. I read a book year ago by Nick Pope who was formerly the head of the British Government's Ministry of Defense and was put in charge of investigating and researching all reports of such phenomena for several years... The book was called "Open Skies, Closed Minds" and to this day I would have to say is the single most credible thing I have read on the subject. The author approaches it very carefully and level-headed and never jumps to any conclusions. I'd recommend it above anything else I've come across in this field
I believe people have seen UFO's, sure. But I'm very skeptical those were related to extraterrestrial visitors. They were literally unidentified so it could be average stuff like a weatherballoon or even an airplane. More likely than aliens imo. I believe extraterrestrial life is likely to exist but it seems extremely unlikely so far to me that it has come to our planet.
Okay, so lets clear this up before anyone else comments on this; I'm talking about EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL crafts that have visited the Earth... we all know "UFO" stands for "unidentified flying objects" and this thread is not about weather balloons or birds or tricks of light and shadow, k? thx I figured I could get away with leaving it at "UFO" without a bunch of smartasses coming in here and saying "well OF COURSE they're real, anything you see in the clouds you cant identify is a UFO"... What do you guys think of Bob Lazar? He was one of the more intriguing characters associated with this phenomena, but the more I look into him and the more I look through videos and interviews with him, I find him less and less credible... Some of the shit he says is just way too ridiculous. I mean if he was in fact employed at S4 and worked on reverse engineering alien spacecraft and now he's blabbing to the mainstream media about the specifics, doesn't it seem like he would get silenced pretty damn quickly? Here he is elaborating on the supposed specifics of how these crafts operate and how they are propelled and the people he was supposedly employed with take no issue with this? Come on
I try not to bother with dissecting motives of aliens and what not if any of these UFO accounts are accurate with the why, what, where, etc questions. I realize that's very unsatisfactory to the logical and rational human mind but I'd suspect an aliens rationale greatly differs from a humans. I mean hell, I have a difficult time understanding the logic and motives being implored among many of the interactions humans have amongst each other. Me as well which is one of the reasons I'm more apt to believe in UFO's and aliens.
I believe in them. I'd find my point of existence to be quite dull and lifeless if I wasn't imaginative to believe in such things. I think there's a lot of history that could be evidence but it's up to interpretation. When the Americans started landing their craft on the pacific islands during WW2, many of the cultures inhabiting the islands to this day still speak of the white gods that came down in metallic birds and helped the advance by means of technology, helped them harvest food/medicine and they're still known as gods to these people. That's a misinterpretation of a culture that does not understand advanced living. The same stories have been told in our earliest history. It makes sense to me.
If out of the thousands upon thousands of UFO sightings and stories, if just one of them is a real extraterrestrial craft, then they are 100% real!
I've seen some shit over the years here in Az. Not close up during the daylight where I could see what they really were. But I could tell they moved weird enough not to be normal aircraft. And the night running lights on them are strange too sometimes. I live in one of the biggest cities in the country with an International airport and an Air Force base. Two more good sized airports and a few little ones around also. I've been saying for years that all a UFO would have to do is slap a few lights on it and people wouldn't think twice about it cruising around here at night with all the other traffic in the air here every day. I want to talk about what I saw just a few days ago but this post is getting too long. I'm going to be working on a retired Air Force Majors' house tomorrow who has his own private plane that he flies all the time now. I'm wondering if he's seen anything. I'll report back here later when I can corner him alone and ask him some questions about this..
I think there is life somewhere out there in the universe. There has to be, it's sooo big! I just don't think they come down in spaceships, or look like the typical stereotypical aliens. I thought I saw a spaceship once, though. I was on a highway by myself, no other cars.. and I saw these lights in a triangle in a field.. just sitting there. I was a little freaked out haha.
All I remember was asking him a question and then there was a bright flash. I forgot about this thread until I bumped into it just now. Naw, the fucker left the same night I posted here. He never says where he's going either. They haven't been back yet. I remember his wife was in the bedroom and I knocked because I needed a key from in there to the elevator. All she said was that she was packing again. He'd just flew to pick her up from North Dakoda the day before. Maybe I shouldn't ask any questions about anything whenever he gets back. I do know his private plane is pressurized and makes it from Arizona to North Dakota in three hours, and he flys it himself. Also, there's untold thousands of bottles of wine everywhere around the house, in the guest house, in closets, temperture controlled rooms, and at the bars. One bar has a gigantic glass overflowing with popped wine corks. One day he was in the back yard and UPS came with a big box. I told the guy he was in the back but he just rushed by me saying "No, I always leave it at the door." 20 minutes later I saw the box opened at the nearest table to the door and it was full of opened wine bottle boxes of all different kinds. Only the boxes, no bottles. There are more things around the house that seem verry odd also, but this post is getting too long, so I'll wrap it up by saying this.. Maybe they're Aliens and Aliens really, really like wine. :willy_nilly:
There was a program on aliens on the 'science' channel featuring Stephen Hawking that I saw today. The shit was ridiculous, found it interesting for a bit when they were discussing how aliens could potentially arrive here and what not. But then they just started going off on what the aliens motives for coming would be and suggesting the typical they'd colonize us and take our resources, even Hawkings was like "It'd be like when Colombus discovered America and we know how that turned out for the natives." I felt like a Will Smith movie could provide me with as much accurate info as some of the stuff they were suggesting. It's interesting to me how people always assume aliens motives would resemble that of humans, its always speculated they'd come for resources and to wage war. I want to hear some new speculated shit like they picked up The Rolling Stones on one of their spaceships frequencies and are coming to discover some new music to them, surely The Stones music has Been emitted several light years away by now.
