I love getting books for xmas. It's so wonderful to just spend the days after xmas (when it's usually cold and snowing outside) inside just eating yummy food, burning candles and reading all the new books. I love it. :)

So, what books did you get this xmas?

I love books too. Best gift I have ever received was from my mother, who sent me my grandmother's old copies of the Forsyte Saga. I love the scent of old books, and I now have something of my grandmother's that she well loved. Not sure of anyone else is familiar with that series of books, but PBS did a version of the tales as a miniseries a year or so ago, and I fell in love.
Staying on a Victorian theme, for some odd reason, I received a few novels of that time. I love history.
"Winter Solstice" and "September" were the only modern reads this year. *lol*

I got the Da Vinci Code too and I'm so excited to dive into it!

I love getting books because it gives you something to do after all the presents are opened and everyone's busy exploring their new things. It's so nice to curl up in my favorite chair and enjoy the day by reading a new book.

The other books I got this year are:

America (The Book) by Jon Stewart and a few others
    Homegrown Democrat by Garrison Keillor
A Modern Herbal by Mrs. M. Grieve
    Yoga for Living
    Llewellyn's 2005 Witches' Datebook
and a crockpot cookbook, but that probably doesn't count.

i've spent the last day reading my parents present to me: "inside out" by Nick Mason, it's a personal history of Pink Floyd and it's so worth it, it's amazing! :D
    i don't need anything else! :p

None, reading is something I don't get to do that often but want to start again once the summer starts.

Surprisingly I didn't get any books for christmas... :(
Books are one of my favorite gifts to get, or gift cards to barnes and noble or something... :D
Hehe I could spend a few thousand dollars pretty easily at a book store... :D
The last books I've gotten as gifts were on various mythologies... :D

I got America, too. It's great I love it.
I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one who knows who Garrison Keillor is. I haven't read Homegrown Democrat, but I have read Lake Wobegon Summer 1956 and I listen to Praire Home Companion on NPR all the time.

Alas, no one got me any books this Christmas either. So i bought myself one w/ some of my Christmas money~~The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian by Robert E. Howard. It's been quite addictive. I highly recommend it to all you scifi/fantasy geeks like me ;)

HHGTG was alright. 'Twas a little too sci-fi for my taste, but it was entertaining. I just found it a little too simplistic.

I didn't get any novels for christmas (just some anatomy flash cards since I'm a wannabe nerd). I did read "Things Fall Apart" recently and loved it. Reminded me of Africa. "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair is next on my list.
