I am sure our pollution has more to do with the bird decline. Cats are a scapegoat.

Yes, now this gets into the theory that I am currently working on in regards to cats.

It has long been a contention of Egyptologists that the ancient Egyptians worshiped cats. This is a misunderstanding of the true relationship of cats and Egyptians. Egyptians did not so much worship the cat as have a symbiotic relationship with them.

Bast, the Egyptian cat god, was the daughter of Amun Ra, the sun god.
Now, the mice would bring clouds to becloud, or obscure the life giving rays of the sun. Bast, as daughter of the sun swore an oath to fight the mice and protect the earth, and thereby the Egyptians, from the growing darkness. (Douglas Adams told us that mice are pandimensional beings.)
So we see where the age old battle with the mice began. Also notice the snake atop the solar disc, more on this later.
Now following this Egyptian connection we know through Christopher (Christopurr?) Dunn and his extensive analysis of the great Pyramid, that it was attuned to the Earth frequency F#. F# is well within the frequency range of the cat's purr. In fact their range encompasses several octaves.

Check out this, the cat's purr can range from 25 to 125 hertz:

    Frequencies of the human brain

    • 13Hz to 30Hz Normal wakefulness
    • 33Hz Christ consciousness, hypersensitivity, Pyramid frequency (inside)
    • 35Hz Awakening of mid-chakras, balance of chakras
    • 38Hz Endorphin release
    • 141.27Hz - Associated with orbit of Mercury, associated with communication
    • 144Hz - Helps with headaches
Looks good until you see this part:

    • 1Hz to 3Hz Delta: deep, dreamless sleep, trance state, non-REM sleep
    • 1.0Hz Feeling of well-being, pituitary stimulation to release growth hormone
    • 3.4Hz Sound sleep
    • 3.5Hz Feeling of unity with everything
    • 4Hz to 7Hz Theta: recall, fantasy, imagery, creativity, planning, dreaming
    • 4Hz Extrasensory perception
    • 6.3Hz Astral Projection, Accelerated learning & Increased memory retention
    • 7.0Hz Psychic surgery, bending objects
    • 8Hz to 13Hz Alpha: relaxed, tranquil and non-drowsy, inward awareness,
    • 8.3Hz Pick up visual images of mental objects
    • 10Hz Enhanced release of serotonin and mood elevator
    • 10.5Hz Healing of body, mind/body unity, fire walking
    So what's going on??!!!
Is your cat suppressing your spiritual growth? Keeping you "normal" by blocking the 1 to 11Hz range by emitting the 25 Hz and above purr and thus BLOCKING the "natural" cosmic frequencies below the 25Hx range?

The Egyptians were in fact CONTROLLED by their cats. That is why the death penalty was imposed on anyone who harmed a cat. It wasn't a human law, but a Felis catus proclamationem.

(Ever notice how cats get bigger the nearer they are to the equator? Very few cats at the poles. Think about it.)

P.S Don't let your cat see this. And don't think about sex around them, Herodotus gave me this clue.

I have a shelter cat and a cat I adopted from a family before they put her into a shelter or dumped her. You can tell because my ex-stray will rip open anything you leave around, thats a bag of flour, bin bags, chocolate, anything, because she is used to scavedging, whereas my other will come straight to me if shes hungry. But, my ex-stray is really confident and will approach anyone, where my other cat will run and hide as soon as the doorbell rings and wont come out until whoever it was has gone, she literally appears as soon as the door shuts, and my ex-stray will be jumping up at the visitor like a puppy.

I absolutely love cats.. I love the way they act and everything they do. I think they are very interesting to observe. I've had my cat for about 12 years, and we know each other so well (i know that sounds silly).. but it's true. We have certain routines that we do with each other, and we sleep with each other every night. She lays right next to me and puts her face to mine.

My kitten Zoey has reminded me of a little child today. I have old kids toys stored in my basement from when my children were little. I had locked the kitties down there when I left to the doctors just in case the maintenance man showed up. When I got home and let the kitties out, Zoey starts hauling toys up from the basement. Her favorite seems to be a little hot wheels car. She has extra toes and she uses them. It was so funny watching her handle this little car like a child, with her huge paws. Then when my son starts drawing she starts stealing his art supplies and hiding them under the couch. My son starts asking me where his pencil vanished too and then I see Zoey take his expensive eraser and run with it under the couch. Of course then we were able figure out what happened to his charcoal pencil. It was so cute.

I don't know, I would be pretty impressed if my indoor cats were somehow killing birds...

A lot of the fault lies with humans because a lot of those deaths are from feral cats and there are feral cats because of douchebags who abandon their cats. People are way more likely to abandon cats than dogs because 'cats can take care of themselves' and this causes a huge problem.

Where I live has huge feral cat problems because college kids just leave their cats behind. It makes me hate people, not cats.

My former cat joon loved finding things and taking them away somewhere. She died a little over two years ago and I still have not found her stashing place. Someday I will be in for a big surprise.

On the topic of cats and stash,

    http://news.yahoo.com/cat-caught-sneaking-saw-phone-brazil-prison-145407675.html

"RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - A cat carrying a saw and a mobile phone was "detained" as it entered a prison gate in northeast Brazil, Brazilian media reported on Saturday.

Prison guards were surprised when they saw a white cat crossing the main gate of the prison, its body wrapped with tape. A closer look showed the feline also carried drills, an earphone, a memory card, batteries and a phone charger."

Might have been better if authorities at the prison had simply let the cat go on its way. They could have discovered where it was going to stash the stuff and figured out who was behind it.

As it is now, they have a lengthy investigation on their hands that they'll likely never figure out.

Cats are incredibly perceptive... perhaps they come to sleep with you/us because they like dreaming with us?

This is part of my theory. They sleep so much because they meet in clowders in the dream realm and make plans.

I assume they are benign, but something is up.
