Three letters. One album. One band. Opiates in the form of sound. It took me the longest time to "get" the music of My Bloody Valentine, but their newest album since 1991's Loveless makes me fully realize what so many people found so great about that last album from 22 years ago. I am a sucker for sleek production and crisp, clear melodies, but the music of MBV has challenged the way I look at music. Actually, I find this to be music you're not really supposed to think about. All the distortion and reverb has a warm, hazy feel that just sort of works on you like a drug. It puts you into this sort of altered state where you're not really consciously thinking about the music, but you somehow feel it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBKjhgHGVZs"]she found now - m b v - my bloody valentine - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2FQ3ih0MoE"]only tomorrow - m b v - my bloody valentine - YouTube
Latecomer to MBV. This new album might be something to listen to a couple times for it to click but I do enjoy "Loveless" quite a bit. "Isn't Anything" is just as good.
