Two women were shot by the LAPD in a case of mistaken identity. Police were involved in a manhunt for Christopher Dorner, a fired Los Angeles police officer.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162...t-women-shot-by-lapd-officers-had-no-warning/

"The two women who were mistakenly shot by LAPD officers searching for triple murder suspect Christopher Dorner Thursday said they had no warning beforehand, the victims' lawyer told CBS Los Angeles.

Attorney Glen Jonas said Maggie Carranza, 47, and her mother, 71-year-old Emma Hernandez, were delivering Los Angeles Times newspapers around 5:15 a.m. in Torrance when the officers opened fire on their vehicle."

Police also fired rounds at a second pickup truck in another case of mistaken identity related to Dorner. The occupant in the pickup truck was not shot.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/07/christopher-dorner-manhunt-los-angeles_n_2638023.html

"Minutes later, Torrance officers responding to a report of gunshots encountered a dark pickup matching the description of Dorner's, police said. A collision occurred and the officers fired on the pickup. The unidentified driver was not hit and it turned out not to be the suspect vehicle, they said."

Talk about itchy trigger fingers. Who's more dangerous, Dorner or the police?

Yeah, we know. It's all justified because the officers went home safe to their families and they couldn't do an attempted apprehension (of the wrong person) from across the street.

    Top fucking notch police work.

They said the cop opened fire because the woman's truck matched the suspects. The trucks aren't even the same color, and are different makes for crying out loud. The only thing the trucks had in common is that they're both made by Jappanese companies. Even if their truck did match the one the suspect is driving, their just going to open fire without seeing who's inside it?

There are huge lawsuits headed for them that's for sure. I'm just glad nobody was killed, that would've made things even worse.

The two women, mother&daughter, were admitedly shot by police officers who were guarding a police captain's home. The way the reports I've heard go it seems the cops saw a similar pickup to the suspect's with the passenger throwing something (a newspaper) at the captain's house and over reacted.

I find it interesting how very little talk about this whole thing focuses on what supposedly brought this all on.
If there's any merit to this guys claims, it could lead to uncovering some pretty nasty practices within the LAPD.
Chief Charley Beck has ordered a review of the case that led to his firing. That's going to be the story to watch.

Note at the top of that page is a link to this 'manifesto' we keep hearing about. It's an interesting read and if only 10% of his accusations are true, there's going to be some shit go down in the LAPD.

I'm sure his claims do hold merit. Remember, this is the LAPD we're talking about. The most inept and vile police force in all the US.

However, the guy obviously has some serious anger issues. You can't go psycho every time somebody calls you a name you don't like. And surely he could've thought up a better way to get the media's attention other than going on a murderous rampage.

That being said, hopefully this gets investigated and changes happen in the LAPD... but I wouldn't bet on it.

Obviously, on the other hand I (hopefully most people too) haven't a clue what it's like to have every part of your life shredded and ruined, as he claims happened to him. Again, not that it's right but when you push people into a corner...
This is what you're bound to get, sooner or later.

I wouldn't either, but it wouldn't have gotten one bit of attention had it not been for this. And it's high profile enough that enough eyes are on it, it's going to be a lot harder to sweep things under the rug.

They're mostly accusations at this point, but it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out. If he's only partially correct in his assertions and they see the light of day, something will change.

The LAPD also shot the driver of a black Honda pick-up truck the next day, calling it a case of mistaken identity..Now dozens and dozens of members of the LAPD are hiding in there homes, while being protected by others members of the LAPD..And I thought the NRA said owning guns makes us safer.

I believe that Dorners getting fired was the straw that broke the camels' back. In the manifesto he states that there were alot of things going on within the lapd that he had issue with. Is this a matter of a good man that snapped under the load?

This might be naive of me but I am not going to believe he killed anyone without reputable witnesses other than the lapd and their families. I think this is going to be huge.
