i just published my first website, but when i did it went to resist.ca/~wildearth/wildearth2005new instead of resist.ca/~wildearth i;m using nVU to design and publish it. anybody know where i went wrong?
if you are publishing from your own system check what your default file names are, and the path... e.g. with MS IIS it often wants a file callued default.html unless you reconfigure it. also is the root of your website in a subdirectory called wildearth2005new?
Yeah. From the looks of things, you overwrote or wrote it to someone elses site. Unless that was yours before. I added the URL tag to what you typed above. Is yours an "Ecology" site? But, it looks like a site with that name already existed before you uploaded yours.
yes, the site was originally made by someone else. but i have the password. i open the original page with NVU then alter it, but it creates a new page each time.
i got it! i published it to index.html and it worked http://users.resist.ca/~wildearth/ if you wanna take a look
