Yes, read the article, wow, I've been to mexico 3 times, but mainly resorts which is likely a very different place than living in the country there. I also read replies to the article and even though they got off topic hugely, that kind of government complacency and lack of decency is sad to read about. I have been to many places, but find the safest from worry and risk is actually Cuba. Even though people don't/didn't like Castro..........he did try to establish a social government and system where people respect each other and have respect for the law and government. That is how crime and disorder are eliminated, via respect and communal work. I am sure the Mexicans intention was not to kill.......but to rob, but rather amateur robbing. Not unlike a Toronto "gangsta" having a new gun to feel strong and shooting through a window to kill a 10 year old child by accident. All a shame. All sad.
lol.......I am not Anti-American, even though I am Canadian. And yes, countries without Americans do seem friendlier to the tourists. If America could think of the world as one pot.........then they may find life easier and better. They are just missing out on a beautiful and safe country.....Cuba, but that's the Americans own doing to themselves.
Not really, Americans are just victims of politics sometimes. I would love to go to Cuba. I would love to go to Mexico too but it's just insane there right now
Hello Meliai, we end up all being pawns of politics.......what a shame. From an experienced travellers point of view, Cuba is gorgeous, safe, and I am sorry the Americans miss out on such a cool place. Namaste
