I have been wondering for a while if there's a middle ground in being a hippie and a gamer. I've been told I'm not a real hippie if I like to play on my computer and play video games and I've been told I'm not a real gamer if I like to be outside and enjoy nature. I just wonder where that would put me as I love both. I love to be outside, to be in nature, and to be near animals. But I also love video games. I love being online and surfing the web. Even now I'm planing to travel across the states and I plan to take my laptop so I can game a hour or two a day while I travel. I couldn't leave my laptop behind but that's what everyone keeps saying I should do. I was wondering if anyone else seems to feel this way and if they have any thoughts on gaming and being a hippie?

Exactly. Why care how others label you? Be true to yourself and be kind to yourself.

i don't see why hippie and gamer would be mutually exclusive. but either way, you should just be who you are rather than trying to fit into any particular stereotype.

i'd be more worried about the ''gamer'' label.....nerd is right around the corner:)

part of being a hippie...or being anything really,is that we dont give a flying fuck what the squares think

I am a second generation hippy and I play video games. I was playing Skyrim today until my 18-year-old son came home from school. I know lots of hippys who play games.

It depends if you're playing COD or Minecraft, also if you've actually paid for your game or not. If you're playing Minecraft for free, and all you do in Minecraft is dig a make dirt buildings and gardens... you are definitely a hippie.
