this is basically just making excuses. i'll be the first to admit that eating truly healthy, well balanced meals all the time is not realistic, but it's not that hard to eat decently anyway. my standard workday lunch is not perfect, but it's fairly healthy, and takes me less than 5 minutes to throw together. and you don't have to go to taco bell; you can go to subway, which is again not ideal but is still not too terribly unhealthy.

but then that's not really even the point. no matter what you eat, it's just healthier to eat it over time than to shove it all down at once. whether you eat one huge well balanced meal, or one huge taco bell fart-fest, it would be better for your body if you took the exact same food and spread it out over 2 or 3 meals each day.

yeah, you're metabolizing your food rather than going into starvation survival mode.

but if it works for you, it works for you. everyone's body is different after all. i just wouldn't recommend the once-a-day diet to most people.

If you have no money - everything is expensive.

    One burger isn't unhealthy.
Do you mean the Grilled Chicken & Bacon Salad, Grilled Chicken Salad (no Bacon), Crispy Chicken & Bacon Salad, Crispy Chicken Salad (no bacon) or the Garden Side Salad?

I think the fast food salads are roughly the same price.
I'm sure I could do a lot more with 30 quid than salad (of any description).

I don't really find eating healthy to be that expensive. I can get a weeks worth of vegetables from the local farmers market for $20. I stock up on meats on occasion and keep them in the freezer. Meat can get expensive but I just wait and buy when there are good deals.
Then I just make sure I keep my kitchen stocked with flour, eggs, milk, sugar, spices. I have all the ingredients to make whatever I want and I end up with leftovers for a couple days so it's not like I'm spending a lot of time cooking.

Food is only expensive when you buy processed crap. $9 for a box of frozen chicken nuggets? No thanks. Organic food doesn't have to be expensive either. Places like whole foods is a rip off. Local farmer's markets are usually reasonable.

Is there any difference in price between a farmers market and a market? I think there is only monthly farmers markets within my city centre.

Where do you get your information?
Spiking your insulin once a day is much worse than keeping it leveled out with smaller meals.

Eating breakfast is to "break" your "fast" from the night before and you will feel "more" hungry because you started up your metabolism, which is a healthy thing to do. Keeping it sluggish because you continue to fast will make you fat.

So because food is abundant we shouldn't eat it? Not taking care of your body because you are "busy" will bite you in the ass in the longterm. Malnutrition can do a lot of damage.

Most of us are not eating constantly, and yes it is realistic to plan meals and cook. It isn't that hard.

The key to success is indulging on weekends.

    Saturday:

Breakfast: On Saturdays I eat a light breakfast, usually bagels but it could be any fresh bakery; muffins, danish, croissants. donuts, etc.

Lunch: I like to eat hot dogs for Saturday lunch but would also eat Polish sausage or Brats.

Dinner; Saturday dinner should be either Pub food (Burgers, wings, etc), Pizza, SteaK or BBQ.

    Sunday:

Breakfast: a full breakfast with eggs, meat, potatoes, etc. Served with toast or Pancakes/ French Toast.

    Midday: Cheese board or Charcuterie.

    Dinner: big dinner with dessert.

I guess where I shop is a market. Its someone's business and she buys her produce from farmers, whereas I guess a farmers market is more like a flea market for food where farmers rent booths and what not.
