So today I had about 9 grams of morning glories, and I decided to try them before going to church with my Grandma so that I don't get bored to death. I didn't have a coffee grinder or anything to grind them up, so I double plastic bagged them and got them all pretty broken up with a rock, (after washing them off of course) and then let it sit in cold water for about an hour and a half. After that I put some vanilla extract in it, heard it helps with any stomach pain, and drank it down. About an hour and a half later, while sitting in church, it kind of felt like I was high with a mild body buzz and wavy vision. It got a little more intense but never turned into anything beyond that. No breathing walls or color enhancement. Was this just because it was my first time using them? Did I not do it correctly? Any comments on this would help
Hello! Just a quick background. I've used HBWR before (a life changing experience with 10 seeds, would definitely recommend 6-7 for a first timer, but that's off topic), and I've done a lot of research in the field of LSA containing plants. Of course this knowledge can be figured out by anybody, it's nothing substantial. Alright, so, let's take a look at this. You started with 9 grams of Morning Glory seeds, ground them up with the standard "bag with an object" method (good so far), washed them off, then performed a cold water extract, and put some vanilla extract in them. Okay, there are a few things I could see that's wrong with this. First off, what kind of water did you use? The chlorine in every day tap water destroys the alkaloids in the seeds, so that may be a problem. Boil some water and use that if you're not. Hmm, some other factors that could destroy the alkaloids are light, heat, too long of an extraction, too short, etc. What kind of Morning Glories were you using, and where did you get them? You may want to invest in either getting Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (as I said, I'd recommend 6-8), or Morning Glories from an online seller. I can recommend you a distributor through private message, if you'd like. As far as the extraction goes, here's what I do: 1. Get the amount of seeds you want to use 2. Wash them with boiled water (use a little bit of hand soap if they're store bought, and thoroughly wash that off) 3. Dry off the seeds with paper/regular towels, do not use any kind of heating device to dry them off. 4. Grind them up "vigorously" (goodness this is starting to sound like we're washing our hair!) 5. Obtain some empty tea bags and put the *dry* seed matter into them 6. Put them in a glass/container with cold boiled (or distilled) water, and add a few squirts of lemon juice to aide the dissolving. 7. Push the bags to the side with a spoon and squeeze them easily to the side to get the magic juices out of them. You can also move it up and down like you would with regular tea. 8. Leave sitting for about 10 minutes (make sure it's in a dark place), keep them under the water with a spoon if you need to 9. Repeat step 7 10. Let sit for another 10 minutes 11. Repeat step 7 once more 12. Remove the bags and squeeze the remaining water inside of them into the glass 13. Discard the bags. 14. If you need to, take a coffee filter and pour it through that if any seed material has leaked through. 15. Use the magic potion of wisdom *This CWE method is a combination of a lot of different things I've read, and from personal experience. Thanks to everybody who have contributed to the forum posts concerning these!* I have a few more general cautions/notes on the use of LSA. Don't use it too often, technically you can take it once every two weeks if you'd like, which I would not recommend at all. While the tolerance may be fine with that (and even health, which I would question as well), it's like "abusing" the plant to me. Don't use these things habitually, make it a special event and dissect it for months/weeks (however long you need!) afterwards. I'm even still learning things from my first HBWR trip. Another reason not to use them too often is the possible health effects. While it may be okay to use them 5-6 times a year, I'm not too sure about using them more than that. The vasoconstriction would worry me with frequent use. Also, I'm not sure if you've used any psychedelics (or any "drugs" for that matter, which I fear saying because of the stigma behind it), but LSA, or any other psychedelics like LSD, Psilocybin, Mescaline, etc. should not (and are not) be used if you're seeking recreation. This plant is to be respected. If you take them in hopes of recreation, you'll be in for something much different; it's a tool, not a park. If I may, why do you want to dive into the mysterious adventure realms of LSA? Enjoy! :sunny:
Thanks so much for this reply dude! Really helped me. I'm going to post about an amazing really life changing experience SWIM had the other day with Morning Glories
