If you had any say in using LSD in studies, how would you use it? I love the fact they use it on terminal patients to give them better outlook on their last years.. but don't you think it'd be a great way to get convicts and criminals who wont answer questions, to open up? Don't tell them and when they drink the water or whatever it is, get em trippin and then start asking about the crimes they've done! Could get interesting!
If I were to use LSD in studies... I would attempt to explore a correlation between LSD use and enhanced creativity. Assuming I had the means, try and find neurological correlates to this phenomena. Experiment for neurological and self-assessed similarities between spiritual experiences occuring naturally and those under the influence of LSD. Attempt to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the pharmalogical effects of LSD. Meaning that in the general information out there, LSD and several other Psychedelics are reported as being agonist at the 5ht2a receptor site which is supposedly responsible for the hallucinogenic activity, but LSD visuals and experience differ from mushrooms visuals and experience which differ from mescaline visuals and experience. Other receptor sites are noted as being effected and responsible for LSD's pharmalogical action and I'm sure most have been moderately studied, however brain imagining techniques are significantly improved now compared to when LSD was legal, so I would attempt to understand the action at those receptor sites better and what role they play in the LSD experience and the various interplay the neurotransmitters have producing the experience. Not saying it couldn't help any of them but in many cases I think it would drive a psychotic criminal further crazy. I.E. Charles Manson
You'd want to use LSD . . . for interrogation? Extremely unethical. Why don't you investigate it's application in an aerosol based airbomb to "soften" political enemy fortifications too? :bobby: LOL and without their consent . . . would you also infect black people with syphillis without their consent to study that as well? Could get interesting! Both things are something the CIA was doing around the same time. I can think of a thousand and one better applications for LSD than as a truth serum, (which has already been tried, without success). It's obvious you have no training in a scientific field but just so you know ethics play a major role in experimentation, especially when human subjects are involved. Drugging people without their consent in almost any context is pretty despicable. Just because someone has been convicted of a "crime" (probably a DRUG crime fyi) doesn't mean that the infallable state that prosecuted them hasn't made an error, that's why prisoners still have basic human rights. I would study LSD's application to treatments of mental issues and it's specific mechanism of action to understand and possibly replicate through other means, it's effects. There could also be so much learned about sensation and perception, as well as mystical experiences. I'm more for knowledge, less about abusing and manipulating people
well if they were on death row for murdering many people, or kids, i don't see a problem in trying to find out some facts under the influence. I know it'd never happen, but really for people who have no regards for life and kill and then don't speak, i thnk it could be used as good tool to get more facts, regardless of how unethical it is. It's not like it's a disease or something that sticks with you, in a day it'd be out of their system and they'd be fine. Basically a truth serum is what I was speaking about, ask them questions while they were on it. I understand it'll never happen but if it were i'd not feel bad for the murderers that they're using it on.
while we're at it, let's dose schizophrenics too because they're not *actually* insane like Writer said, they tried this shit decades ago, look into it... doesn't work oh and also, one would hope that if someone is on death row, there really is no need for more facts... one would hope...
