Hello everyone, ever since I was born I've had an insatiable wanderlust, I dream of travelling the world seeing and experiencing all the wonderful things it has to offer us in this waking life. I am almost nineteen and feel as if it is my time to spread my wings because if I do not, I fear I never will. I have grown comfortable with how I live and I believe "Comfort is the enemy of progress," in this sense. I want to break free from the shackles of 'what you do defines who you are' that my parents have tried instilling into me for many years. I have been on and off of this and other site researching tips and thoughts and journals of peoples adventures and I have an idea of what will be required and the lifestyle I will be living, but I know I still have quite a bit to learn before I am ready to break away. I live in a small town just south of Austin, and was looking to see if their was any groups that will be coming through or are currently camping out here that had room for one more young soul. I am able bodied to work and can cook to a degree, and I am more than willing to help out in any occasion it is needed. I am completely open minded and just want to share in this human experience we call life.
Of course I can't explain all my thoughts through this one post, so I'm hoping to get to know some of you to help me prepare my mind and body for my journey. :)
"We are not human beings on a spiritual journey, but spiritual beings, on a human journey."
And I want to make the best of mine through the best and worst of times to come.

    Peace and Love
    -Matt

So glad to see some many young minds taking off on a very challanging but rewarding , physical, mental, and spiritual journey. I myself begin when i was 18 so ive been doing it almost 3 years and really enjoy life on the road. Ive learned more about myself and the world in the past 2 years then in my entire life. Its been challenging, a true test of my faith. But the more i surrender to faith the more i am blessed with miracles that keep me going and afirm im living in alignment with spirit.
Im in florida at the moment and dont know when ill go through texas again, but my best peice of advice if you want to live free on the road is not to wait around for someone or a group or an opportunity, but rather to create your own opportunity. If you feel like your ready to go, pack your pack and walk out the door. The moment i made the decision to begin travelling and relying soley on myself i begin to create opportunities and meet other travellers at times. Sometimes i travel alone, sometimes i travel with others i connect with but be careful who you choose to travel with...

Wish you the best of luck brother
