I am so excited. I am now sitting in my genuine EXECUTIVE black vinyl computer chair with two arms and a little lever that "commands" it to go up, down, or lock from leaning back! And it has a knobby thing to adjust the "springing" action and four wheels. Ahhh, the luxury. All this for $24.00 at the Goodwill store! But wait! It was half price day, so I got it for $12.00!! I tried to get my wife to come in here and take some dictation, but that hasn't worked yet. So, yes, I have now advanced several steps up the old social ladder. I'm thinking of taking up cigar smoking. So, what kind of bargains have you folks found lately? Ten for ten and the grocery store perhaps?
Oh, so now we're back to Obama? And what does Goodwill having been around for over 100 years have to do with anything?
I had some time to kill the other day when taking one of my 6 year old granddaughters to pick up her eyeglasses. We went in Goodwill and she picked out a book for herself, one for each of her 3 sisters, and one for her cousin. Hardback children's books .99 each. That's all you should have to spend on books for little kids.
god, i hope not. i just made a quick one-off joke that i didn't expect to lead to any discussion. you don't remember the whole "obamaphone" thing? it was based on that. and, of course, the obama hijack of your other thread. so, joke = officially explained to death.
i just figured out when the supermarket near me puts ALL of the baked goods (which are perfectly fine, obviously, but can't sit on the shelves for more than a day) as well as other stuff, out the back for the rubbish collectors. so that's...y'now, free food. bit of a bargain.
The only good bargin I got these past two years is I got an Antique table loom really cheap on eBay after I sold my ex husband my share of our house. I was nice and gave him a cheap bargin by only asking him for 7,000 for my share of our house. So I did some shopping during that time and paid off debts.
I will be getting bargains on Monday at Value Village's half off sale. My little girl needs new clothes, she just outgrew a bunch.
I went into my favourite little shop that sells second hand items on commission and I found a really lovely hummingbird figurine at the really great price of $6. I was thrilled to bits and it sits now with my other little friends.
i just bought a truck for parts...has the rear locker diff that i need really bad for mine i paid 500$ ...after i take all the parts i need ill take off a bunch i might need in the future and sell the engine/transmission/transfercase for a ton of profit...then take the leftover body/frame in for scrap and get most of my 500 back
I don't shop unless its a bargain. I got my dog bags of treats for $2-3 a bag...things I typically get online for double that. I also got a $500 part for my truck for $200 last week. I'm going to pick up a muffler for the Caddy this week for $20...the guy bought it and it wasn't the right one for his '72 Coupe...but it'll fit my '69 perfectly! Fuck yes!
I got a space heater for $5. I also purchased my daughter's valentines day present for next year, which includes a stuffed animal, sippy cup, and socks for $3. Yeah, I'm one of those moms. Eek!
a sack? like a 20 kilo sack? hehe is this an American thing? Over here it's just couples who exchange valentine's gifts My latest bargain was a new rucksack for £10 at a car boot sale on Sunday :2thumbsup:
It might be, but it's not not uncommon to give your kid, mom, dad, etc a Vday's present. However, school aged children usually give valentines to their classmates.
