I'm wondering if this is only popular in southern california. I've tried out four different dispensaries now. I don't plan on checking any more out. The first one I actually tried is perfect for me and that's where I usually do my business. A couple of days ago I tried one place that is a little closer. I was disapointed. You see, it seems all of the dispensaries here blare rap music. Not that I have anything particularly against rap music, it just makes me uncomfortable that it's playing so loudly as if I were at a club. I'm there to get my medicine/weed. The bud tenders also seemed like they were dressed to go to a club- tramp stamps and all. The whole procedure was taking way too long, the place was un-organized and nobody could figure out who was up next to get something (the place was crowded). I ended up walking out and going to the place I usually go to. It was such a breath of fresh air to go to 'my dispensary' after that incident. It's called 'the health & wellness center.' Nice and quiet. Friendly faces. Homely. I'm in and out promptly. The place also offers classes and farmers markets where you can get weed directly from the supplier. I love it there. So what are your dispensaries like? is there one you love?
my last dispensary was this guy's apartment. it was a nice apartment, and he had a super hot girlfriend that was usually there. i would hang out and play video games with him for about an hour while sampling my most recent purchase. but then he went out of business, and as far as i can tell there are no more dispensaries within 50 miles of here.
at the one me and my friend go to they have lots of cannabis and cannabis related products such as edibles, cannabis drinks, pipes etc... they are pretty efficient in there.
Allot of them are run by people whom you can tell they were just dealers before and they really don't know how to run a legit business. There are some legit ones though, but I usually depend on my caretaker for meds. Cheaper and higher quality plus he gives me a free oz every harvest and that's too nice a deal to pass up.
the one you've seen splattered all over television, harborside healthcare in oakland, is the one that i enjoyed most. it's a nice place with seemingly tight security (you see hired security guards and various forms of law enforcement cruising by). it's not necessarily the best area, there is a ghetto motel across the street where some shady stuff probably happens but in reality it's really close to the massive oakland police station and it's overlooking the harbor where you see a lot of nice boats chillen. for the most part, it's actually a really nice part of the city and the local law make you feel safe, not alienated. inside the club, there were never huge lines though there was often a decent line when you came at the wrong times. not having normal hours, i'd usually go when there weren't a lot of people around cause most are working i assume. waiting wasn't bad and those with more serious ailments would go straight to the front of the line without waiting. the quality varied a lot in the sense that they had it all. across a wide spectrum they had lower quality, mid quality, high quality, and what i think was known as the top shelf. top shelf jars were the best of the best basically and were pricey without any breaks in price and a limit on how many you could get. they had all kinds of extracts and a lot of different options when it came to the different types. strains, they had tons and there were even a lot of strains they always had that they didn't show you in the display boxes but you could assume they had them if they were popular enough. all in all, i'd say that harborside healthcare was a really nice place and i miss it, the ganja, the employees, and the owners or at least the one i'd always see walking around in there. cool place, cool people. i don't live close and i heard they were shutdown but i have no idea cause i don't keep up since i'm not nearby. that was a really professional yet comfortable place to go and get my medication. anyone else been anywhere better?
All the ones I visited were pretty uninformed. For an establishment that sells medicine they should be better educated as to what their product is capable of.
I don't go to the coffeeshop for the people or vibe anymore (generally). I just go to get my weed and if the quality (or quantity) dissappoints a time or two I try another shop next time. They are all in walking distance for me (yay dutch city centers :biggrin, most are pretty chill but one I go to often looks quit shitty. They obviously just go for selling pot there and not for creating any kind of vibe. In fact, there's not a chair in there except for the guy behind the counter There's also 2 pieces of papers on the wall with printed info on marijuana and hash right from some wiki kind of internet page. I guess they are obligated to (be able to) give out some info and they took the easy approach Always good quantities though
