Hello forumers how are you? I have this question for you does luck exist? Is it just a state of mind? If it does exist do we have a impact on it? Karma luck how they are related? Hope you all are fortunate :daisy:
I think so. A black cat crossed my path last night. When I got to the 'path' I turned around and walked backwards over it, thereby cancelling out the bad luck. I got a new job today, so that means it worked as far as I'm concerned.
I'd define luck as a highly irregular experiential phenomena of subjective good or bad that occurs to a particular person or collective. Having played sports before and following it, I'd say that luck happens a fair amount there.. I think in many instances one increases their chance for (un)lucky experience by how much practice/preparation they put in towards a particular event but sometimes both good and bad luck seem not to depend on such factors.
it depends on how you define it. according to webster's, it is: 1 a : a force that brings good fortune or adversity b : the events or circumstances that operate for or against an individual 2 : favoring chance; also : success <had great luck growing orchids> by that definition, of course it exists. if i choose to give you money for any reason, i am taking the form of luck by operating for you/giving you good fortune. if i shoot you in the balls, i am the force that operates against you/causes adversity. i don't think that's really the common usage though. i think that it is most commonly defined along the lines of random events that help or hinder you with no apparent cause. by that definition, i still say that yes, obviously these things do happen. but it's not some mystical force of luck or anything like that; it's more because of the fact that most actions have nearly infinite, mostly unintended, consequences which will eventually have an effect, either positive or negative, on multiple people who may or may not have had anything to do with the original action. so it's not so much that luck is favoring, or not favoring you. it's just that life is really complicated and stuff is going to happen to everyone that nobody really planned. on top of that, you can create your own luck to an extent. by working hard and making good decisions, you can create opportunities for good things to happen to you down the road that on the surface appear to be purely luck based. the problem with this obviously being that you don't always know what a good decision is until long after you've made it.
Sometimes it seems like it exists, in the "heads or tails" sense. Really, it is probably more like statistics. A certain number of people are going to have certain things happen to them, and one of them might be you. You could be considered lucky or unlucky, depending on if it was winning the lottery or getting herpes.
Luck is something we perceive as such. If for instance you would know all particles in the universe and its movement there would be no luck, just causality.
Some people in the East say there are 3 types of luck:- 1)The one u were born with - brains, health, looks/ whatever. 2)The luck you create eg the sort of environment you are in/ how hard you work etc 3)The "random luck". So yeah, its a mixture of them all. Personally I think positive and negative *can* be 2 sides to the same coin. Karma is a big topic in its own right.
