That's the one! Terror in the Haunted House. Love that song and now it's going on my iTunes playlist. Thanks. -BlkBks
no one cares.. not in a sense of "don't post your goth stuff here" no, thats cool.. but no one cares what you choose to do with your life. well i don't. i hope you enjoy each and every day living YOUR life how YOU want to regardless of what the narrow stereotypical people say about you. thats all. i'll leave you with a few good lyrics from the legend john lennon "I'm sick and tired of hearing things From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth I've had enough of reading things By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me With just a pocketful of hope Money for dope Money for rope No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me With just a pocketful of soap Money for dope Money for rope I'm sick to death of seeing things From tight-lipped, condescending, mama's little chauvinists All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth now"
Oh my, I can't stand stuff like Bauhaus or Siouxie and the friggin banshees for one ... Typical goth stuff I dig is Dead can dance and Sopor Aeturnus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jIhzl6t69w"]Sopor Aeternus Little Velveteen Knight - YouTube I think labels are supposed to be used on others in a generalizing way. As long as people would be aware they mainly have use to generalize stereotypes and not project a label completely on a person who happens to look conform a certain label it's all good. Using a label to fit yourself is not needed since you don't have to generalize you to yourself.
Sopor Aeternus is okay. Dead Can Dance is a personal favorite. And if you like Darkwave like DCD, you might like this band, Faith and the Muse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLfwyHGj20A"]Faith And The Muse - Through The Pale Door (The Haunted Palace) - YouTube -BlkBks
I ONLY like dark wave like Dead can Dance If it weren't for all the different folkish influences I doubt I would know them as I do now. It makes them a really great band for me. I know Anwynn beneath the waves of Faith and the muse, still dig that album. But I can't be triggered really to check gothic stuff out properly anymore...
Fair enough. Anwynn Beneath the Waves is at the top of my iTunes playlist, it's a great album. And the folkish influence in DCD is the best thing about them. DCD and Cocteau Twins is my tripping music these days. lol And I totally understand what you mean about Bauhaus and Siouxsie and company. They were an acquired taste even for me. -BlkBks
I use to watch a bunch of dracula movies scared me and my friends a lot. I aoutgrew them now. I can relate. We all go through stages of fun.
As far as Gothic music goes I'm what you would call a Mansonite:mickey: :2thumbsup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFiVcV_ngFc"]Antichrist Superstar - Marilyn Manson [Full Album] - YouTube
Hey, no problem with goths as far as I'm concerned. My very best friend is a gay goth guy, he goes to the goth clubs and wears all the goth stuff, and I'm an original hippie chick, Haight Ashbury and everything. We listen to different music and I like some of his and he likes some of mine. This is the guy who rang me up one Valentine's Day and asked if the guy I was seeing had brought me a card. When I said No, he came round to my house with flowers, chocolates and a bottle of wine and took me out to dinner. I haven't seen him in ages because we live on opposite sides of the country now, but he will always be my friend. His goth friends have always been friendly with me, but then I'll talk to anyone, hippie, goth, straight, whatever. Good people are good people however they dress and whatever music they listen to.
Anybody here ever listen to Voltaire? (The goth performer -- not the dead philosopher.) His music is more inclined towards ironic humor. I'd embed one of his videos here, but I haven't figured out yet how to do that. :book: -- Nephele
