it seems like the only ethical justification for putting someone in a straightjacket is if they are going to hurt themselves or someone else.

seems like she hasn't done that, she just talks to trees. it does seem strange, but she seems happy enough with it.

maybe she would be happier if she didn't talk to trees, but maybe not

 

Perhaps the straight jacket would be too harsh. I should have stated that the woman needs prescription medication.

It depends on what exactly it is they believe. Hearing voices from inanimate objects or plants is not the sign of a healthy, sane mind.

 

So it depends on what someone believes.... If they believe as you do they're sane, and if they don't they're crazy.

 

Someone can believe differently than me and still be sane. Hearing voices where there are no voices to be heard is a sign of insanity.
