I was in the pharmacy the other day to get a prescription, I handed it in and said I was just going to pop into the post office next door. The assistant put the script on the pharmacist's counter and said "Post Office waiter!" This amused me, I had been defined as a Post Office Waiter, I think that would make a good name for a band hehe. What's the strangest thing you've been called recently? :mickey:
"Mother" by one of my kids in a tone that only an extremely frustrated teen can use. I think it is like calling them by their full name when aggravated with them.
Probably the strangest thing anybody has said to me is: Is that a suntan? Given I'm mixed race and am the same shade through out the year - it was a fairly odd thing to say.
Someone saw my username on here and started calling me lodog. It was an actual nickname I had in highschool, but at the age of 30 it seems a bit lame.
Or a pop tune. It reminds me of Paperback Writer. We should write lyrics for Post Office Waiter, a spoof of the Beatles tune.
When we were kids if my Mom got frustrated with us she would run down each kid's name from the oldest until she got to the right name.... I was the third child. Also when she disapproved of something we did, she would say "You are just like the [our last name pluralized]" It was the highest form of insult. She never got along with the in-laws.
I've been called many strange things in my life. People can't pronounce my name, so I get all kinds of things... Merlina Malaria Maria Melinda
I was a "diamond" too. It was supposed to be a compliment but they said it so readily and didn't even know me. It didn't feel special.
