This man is right and it's too bad for America that he is not president.

Regardless of what anyone says or thinks. This country was based on GOD, Country and FREEDOM. Remove any of the equation and the formula does not equate.

We are all human beings none above the other. Like the Dr. said. Use your Brain. That's why we have them, to think for ourselves. America is not a business, it's our HOME.

I'm non denominational, but I know the truth when I hear it.I am open minded and listen to all sides of things. He made sense to me.. but then again, I use my brain, so I recognize and understand what he is saying.

Good speech. I liked everything he said, particularly his ideas for health care.

Regardless of what anyone else says or thinks? How did you come to this conclusion? Do Deists count? And why do we have an establishment clause in the First Amendment?

The constitution and most comments by the writers of that document are what states this country was not founded on God.

Sadly, people lots more influential w/ the President & his minions than Dr. Carson firmly believe America IS a business. & Such've believed that for lots longer than Dr. Carson's been around: Andrew Mellon (1855-1937) said good gov. is good business.

I don't believe there were any Atheists on the Mayflower. I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that this country was based on Christian values. I'm not talking about religion here. It's a no win situation, everyone is free to believe what they feel is right for them.

I was just interested in what this man had to say and he had some pretty good points. I don't follow any set of organized religious teachings. There are pros and cons about everything under the sun.

No, that noisome boat was filled with a bunch of witch-burning, messianic loons who were simply trying to escape the dictates of the RCC. No self-respecting atheist would sign up for that cruise, darlin'.

In any case, that scurvy-ridden lot didn't found America so much as stumble ashore a land already populated by societies of Asian descent who had long-established agriculture, architecture and state-level political organization already. They did so easily a century before America became an independent nation.

The people who signed the Declaration of Independence, regardless of their personal belief in deities (or lack thereof), had the good sense to incorporate a nation based on separation of church and state. Wisely, this ensured that all citizens were within their rights to believe in talking snakes, invisible, omnipotent (but bumbling, contradictory and confused) patriarchs, virgin impregnations, the coexistence of humans and friendly, carnivorous dinosaurs, 900 year old polygamous curators of floating zoos or, none of this ridiculous nonsense at all if they have a lick of reasoning ability and are unable to host such tremendous cognitive dissonance. ;)
