OK---so going around barefoot is not "standard" behavior. I wonder if guys started wearing hats again would require a forum.....
See, now. you miss my point. If being barefoot is a fashion problem, I wondered if men wearing hats like they used to would require a forum for people to discuss society's responses to different behavior and...never mind...
It may shock you, but yeah. I'm a barefooter but it's not my identity. I respect private property and I really don't find all that much to talk about it. It's just something I enjoy doing. Nothing a random thoughts thread couldn't satisfy for talking about it. This barefoot forum takes something I find nice and gets all issuey about it: kind of a barefooting buzz-kill.
Sadly I've gotta agree. I like responding and posting here but barefoot isnt a big deal. As some know I'm a full-time barefooter, but its not what describes me or matters, or even a lifestyle, it's just something I do. Sure it's not usual but it's not a big issue, well not where I live anyway. Personally, and please I don't wish to offend anyone but it often appears that this forum is far too serious and full of hang-ups regarding the shoe wearing majority. I don't wear shoes because I don't like wearing them and can't be fucked with putting any on. That said there are a great deal of positive threads here and that little imp in my head just tells me to shut up and enjoy the ride
plenty of guys wear hats. plenty of guys go barefoot. nobody gives a fuck what anyone wears, except, for some reason, a few of the barefoot guys.
Favorite movie trilogy EVER! For some reason if I'm out and about with no shoes, I also like to be wearing my ball cap.
ture being BF isnt a big deal to me either but i like this forum for the fact that people like me can share storys and info, etc from others
Yeah, it's good to talk. Besides most of you guys have such lovely feet from barefooting, be a shame not to show them off Shayla x
I like having contact with people that I have things in common with....like skateboarding, barefooting, reading science fiction, people that have lost thier spouses to death. It's as simple as that. This is a barefooting forum. It's as simple as that. If you think it's stupid, don't torture yourself by staying here. That wouldn't be normal.
I'm SO confused. I made my original point in jest. Someone took it seriously and said the barefooting forum is kinda pointless. On the negative side, it ISN'T pointless because lots of people would barefoot in public if "public" didn't snarl so. We help by saying,"The barks IS worse than the bite." On the positive side, it IS fun to share a common interest, like going barefoot or science fiction. The ONE sure sign of a maturing collective is its OWN snarling when composite members FORCEFULLY disagree or do NOT agree to disagree. Jeez.....
Actually, there are places and situations where we can predict comments. Propping up well traveled not yet washed soles on a chair or table attracts attention. Walmarts seem to care, but I suspect they just want to sell flip flops. Or greeters need more tasks. Seems to me wearing a nice, attention attracting hat can draw eyes away from feet, lessening reactions. But, as a long, long time mod on various versions of hipforums, I have learned that people often WANT the very reaction they then complain about. It could be simple attention seeking, and they get a two-for-one. They could be proving something to themselves. They could see the clique-like energy of some online groups as a desirable peer group and want to "earn their colors." And there is nothing harmful in these actions.
And yes, that is where hat talk would be. Actually, one could suggest that the entire HF site is dedicated to non-normative behaviour. The look is (usually) anti fashion. (Except when the boho look comes round) Collaborative living is outside the mainstream. Homeschooling, vegetarianism, psychedelic use, all outside the main. And that is why hippies are considered counterculture. Goodness, with as many American users as we have, that lack of sports discussion is refreshing. Or, abberent, depending on your view.
The problem with AMERIKA is that everybody minds everybody else's business. Being barefoot is so ...so....MEH! BUT, this being AMERIKA........
It's not a lifestyle to me either. I mean I go barefoot mostly but it's a small facet of a my personality.
