If someone is used to getting high off 20mg of Hydrocodone, what will 1 pill of Morphine sulfate (15 mg) IR by itself do? Thanks!
this is helpful: http://endoflife.stanford.edu/M11_pain_control/equivalency_table.html so 15mg morphine is approximately 10mg hydrocodone.
Thank you. Will it make you sick? I've read that it can make you throw up. I've had it in an IV after surgeries and I never got sick from it. I also read it will just make you pass out. Does it?
I've taken 60mg daily. Morphine is a very sedating drug. It's not like hydro and the anxious hyper ness that comes with it. Split that pill and take it
Yeah, if you have a low tolerance it can make you nod off. As far as nausea goes, some people have it and some don't. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids with it. It's possible that food will lower it's effectiveness somewhat, but if it makes you nauseous go ahead and eat something. Saltine crackers are good for nausea.
I have never gotten nauseous taking reasonable doses of Morphine. My tolerance is only slightly higher than yours. To me it feels like taking Hydrocodone without the nice glow that comes with it. Gets rid of pain, makes me feel slightly out of it, sleepy.
Yeah, that's how I'd describe it too. Like Hydro without the glow. But Morphine taken orally and IV Morphine are vastly different, as I found out in the hospital after back surgery. They hooked me up to an IV pump with a remote control so I could dose myself, up to a preset limit. Man, I was in so much pain I would click that thing to the limit within 20 min. And that stuff basically had me tripping. Shit was moving around on the walls, it sounded like the nurses were all talking shit about me and my sense of time was all goofy. I was kind of counting the hours, because that can give you hope when you're in that much pain. That's why every bed in the ICU had a big digital clock on the wall in front of it. Anyway, I'd not off for what seemed like a couple of hours, then look at the clock and only 10 minutes had passed. That sucked.
