alcohol, caffeine and nicotine are my primary addictions. I'm usually trying to give up one or other at any one time. does anyone live without any of these (as well as the illegal ones)?
Why would anyone wanna live without those or even call it a certain lifestyle if you don't use any of those?
i do like caffeine but wouldnt consider it an addiction i dont bother with anything other than pain meds with a touch of codeine...and even then i avoid taking them and only do it on the worst pain days
Nicotine and caffeine are the last of my vices that I take part in with any regularity. Not giving them up anytime soon. What am I...a fucking Mormon?
On a hippie forum? LOL. Alright, so maybe ethically, straight edgers and hardcore punks in general are actually more children of the original hippie counterculture than they'd like to admit. Nonetheless, as an essentially hedonistic animal, the hippie will tend to require all the drugs (s)he can get its smudgy little hands on so as to keep at a distance that dastardly evil referred to by squares as 'reality'.
because of my job at the moment I'm forced to be "strait edge"; I take risks from time to time, but I'm not really free to do what I want with my body, where I want, when I want. I've only now realized my job invades my personal life and I'm not okay with that, so I'm seeking a job change. In the meantime I drink a lot, meditate, drink, and partake in Bineural beats and Isometric music.

i guess, if the drug test checked for alcohol. and the job was 18 hours a day, 7 days a week so you couldn't have a few beers on your day off, or the evening before a workday. and that's obviously assuming you're referring to the kind of straight edge that is still allowed to drink coffee and smoke cigarettes.
This just in! Someone who never touched alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, or narcotics just died today. It's a lifestyle I respect, but not one I adhere to. You wake up in the morning and that's as good as you're gonna feel all day.
