You seem to be trying to connect Facebook with the CIA via a couple of people that once worked for a CIA commercial business. Which means what exactly? Ever heard of Kevin Bacon and 6 degrees of separation?

    Not at all.
You said Facebook has "proven links to the CIA" which seem to amount to a couple of people who once worked for a CIA commercial business.
    I 'hear' that.
I'm asking what does that tenuous link actually mean?

We also continue to vote tax increases to feed the machine. Its to the point that we are seeeking to apply a Sin tax to soda to raise revenue.

I have online banking. I can see my drivers licence online etc etc - this means the CIA are looking at it because a couple of people worked at a CIA commercial business? That Facebook is collecting this data? There is paranoid and there is super paranoid. I think if the CIA wanted to know your business they would not have to look online.

Come on man, it's DARPA. You've got to see more than just coincidental relation...do you not know about Darpa's "Social Media in Strategic Communications" (SMISC) project?

Whether or not the CIA is connected with FaceTwitterSpaceLinkedInBook isn't the point, imho.

The point is that the modern ethos is to publicise everything, from how drunk you got Friday night to the argument you had Sunday with your mother to how much you earn.

Stuff that to me (I'm 50) is intensely personal, and no one else's fucking business, is routinely volunteered by the 30- set because that is their mindset. And who is more likely to co-operate with a friendly government staffer just asking some routine questions.....me, or the more "open" person?

Who is more likely to want to see the warrant, or the badge, or the reasonable cause suspicion.....me, or the person who tweets when he last had a shit?

I don't know if governments have caused the invasion into personal lives. But for damned sure they encourage it.
