Ocala Seed Camp Report - Greetings Family, the news from Ocala is wonderful. The site is huge and magnificent, in splendid shape and the energy is kick ass. There are about 350 onsite now with a thousand expected before Friday's start. The parking is linear along a 3 mile stretch of FR 54 with three major gates, all with trails leading into the gathering. The front gate, the kindler gentler front gate, is doing great, cooking mad food, drinking, partying and having a blast. They have been successful thus far in addressing past issues and have been helping every camp with hard working family. In front of them, about 75 yards is Welcome home, ably focalized by Rogue and Al. About a mile from there, at the top of a hill is Mid Gate, a fast growing family encampment (unaffected by Front Gate) with good clearing, a fast trail into the gathering and a water buffalo. Several Kitchens have there vehicles based there. Another mile plus on FR 54 brings you to the corner of the gathering at the intersection of FR 33 & 54. Left on 33 from there brings you to the Side Gates, which most pholks, to this point have been using for entry into the gathering, however, no parking is allowed on FR 33 and the parking on FR 54, near the intersection, is filling up fast. For a liveaboard area, it is a medium drama zone, compared with the higher Front and lower Mid Gates. The major kitchens/camps currently or about to set up include Front Gate, Fat Kids, Tea Time, Bare Necessities, Iris, Totally Baked, Kiddie Villas, Coffee Camp. Max's Corner with surprises off every trail. Because of the way the gathering is setting up, the Campground, at the Back Gate is very far and a less attractive choice for this year. Main Circle is using the corner of the prairie nearest to FR 33, rather then the one along the Orange Trail closer to the Back Gate. The FS have been running safety checks on FR 54 on Friday Evenings and Saturday Afternoons. Please have your papers at the ready or as an alternative consider times, roads like 33 and 11 or ... The mood at the gathering is upbeat with many predicting the best and biggest Ocala in many years. Much Love!
