As one gets older, at least it's true for me and my friends, sleep is less important for the body. At least that is the way it seems, because we hardly get any sleep at all. Not that my body is complaining. I can get by just fine on a couple hours of sleep per night. I think it has to do with knowing that we don't have much time left to live so we're trying to make up for it by sleeping less.
You Don't Say How Old You Are, But I'm 65 And My Sleep Varies Between 8 And 12 Hours A Night.... It's Not Beauty Sleep, I Am Already Beautiful.... Cheers Glen.
yeah, i've always heard that older people need less sleep than younger people. but, i don't think i ever heard it from a particularly reliable source, so i don't really know.
I think there must be a fine line you walk in there for several years. I always heard my mother say that she required less sleep as an older adult. On the other hand, if I stay out and party half the night, at this age it hurts me more the next day than when I was younger. I worry about my daughter burning the candle at both ends and my husband tells me not to worry because she's young and she can handle it better than we can.
The young should have their fun. It is what I told my kids. You're only young once. I wish I had done half of what I could have when I was younger, but it was a different generation.
i would guess that older people don't need as much sleep for their ideal functioning, but younger people are better able to handle the physical stress of occasionally going without the ideal amount of sleep. but again, i have no actual evidence of this; i'm just guessing.
I don't get much sleep. I wake up every half an hour or so. If I sleep for 6/8 hours I wake up probably 6-8 times. It's starting to bug me.
I think how much sleep you get is directly related to how many hours you work a day. For instance, I do not work and I sleep up to 12 hours a day, whereas some friends of mine who work 40+ hours a week only get about 5-6 hours.
Seems like you are the ignorant ego here who is assuming all kinds of things. Now shut your mouth and go back to your office or factory and be productive.
You're the one who said you don't work and sleep 12 hours per day. My question is how do you survive? And I don't work in a factory or an office. I keep people on the road and safe in their cars.
