I don't agree with it. Aside from the fact that I don't agree with it morally, there is also the aspect that poor, non-white people are more likely to get the death sentence and the possibility that an innocent person might be put to death.
Agreed. If they ever will suffer, it is more likely to happen when they are living out a long prison term than if the lights flicker and they say goodnight. Although some of these creeps can't be made to feel guilt if it just isn't a part of their fiber in the first place.
Don't worry about that, I have no plans to visit your broken EU socialist disaster. And yes, I'm an ignorant redneck but let me give you an English lesson anyway. I've noticed you have an affinity for the word irregardless and fyi that's not a proper word and it's redundant. The proper word is regardless. Even as a redneck it's hard for me to ignore.
I'm against it in theory. I think it feeds into the the same cycle of a violence that fuels criminals in the first place. A society has to be as good as it possibly can in order to expect goodness from those that make up society. Plus something about the role of the judge, jury, and executioner has always bothered me. I can't really explain it. I would certainly not want to be the one doling out a death sentence. It's not really an issue I feel passionately about either way though. It doesn't bother me at all that some people who commit heinous crimes die. I did read today that having someone on death row is costlier than a life sentence due to the costly appeals process.
Look at the numbers, there is less poverty in your so-called "broken EU socialist disaster" states than in America. Plus we don't need two or more jobs to get enough income. Plus we can all benefit medical care and they won't leave people dying on the street if they can't afford it. Etc. Etc. And besides that, I never said irregardless. Quote me (correctly) on one post besides this one and I will give you + rep.
I'm extremely mixed. Some people really don't deserve to live. But how do we know which people these are? The court system is so messed up, I don't think it's really fair to have a death penalty. But at the same time, it seems so unjust to let unrepentant repeat killers live.
Yeah it was so much easier when religion was relevant. Then we just could have left it to God to decide who was good and who was bad.
Fuck off. I think most people know what I mean. A jay walker shouldn't have the death penalty. murderer yes.... so on Like your post are enlightening.
That little smart-ass murdering Ohio shooter ,T J Lane, came into the courtroom laughing, delivered a profanity laced statement, opened his outer shirt to reveal he had scrawled KILLER on his t-shirt and gave the parents of the dead the finger. He got life without parole. The judge was much nicer than I would have been. Now he gets to eat, execise, watch TV and be taken care of for 50 years or so. Unlike the dead he so callously shot. He'll be a hero to the true bad-asses in prison. Some people need killed. He may be one of them.
That is your feeling speaking and not your rationality. That's why that judge is a judge and you aren't.
the victims had been fucking with the suspect for years. now the suspect got his in. And we're suppose to feel bad cause he killed some bullies ... when the bullied becomes the bully .. then what?..
