Yeah. It would be better if their government sent their military to invade other countries in the name of freedom and democracy, but was actually killing innocent people and defending their own personal interests. Talk about terrorist organizations...
I'm not surprised by the list. Looks about right to me. Palestine is so low because most Americans have it drilled into them from an early age that Israel = Good, Palestine = bad. I've never found this assessment particularly fair. Traveling internationally from America is very, very expensive. Europeans can hop on a train and travel through 3 or 4 countries in a day. Americans don't have that option. International travel is out of the question for the majority of Americans, especially now with the economy the way it is. Who actually has a grand or two to drop on a plane ticket?
Correction: The U.S... Does the U.S government do anything like the above? I can't bought think about the pope doing something when ever I see your signature. The pope in Palestine and Israel? This isn't meant to be a joke, btw.
For the most part people do not differentiate between those countries listed. It is not right but it is the way it is. They are collectively thought of as being one by far too many. It leaves us all right where we are in that there is mutual distrust and respect. I do agree that we need to talk and think more independently and as you state it will probably not happen as it should. More the pity.
Well yeah, the lowest countries on the list are geopolitical rivals to US interests, and most on the bottom are also overwhelming human rights abusers. One could argue that the US was also a large human rights abuser, and that would be a fair point, but there are nuances. I myself don't buy into patriotism much, so I try not to worry about what country loves who, but I think we're all more affected by the media than we'd like to admit. I will say that I consider North Korea perhaps the country I'd like to see most in the world. I find that isolation truly fascinating. You can tour it, it's like a completly government guided tour where you lay down flowers at statues of the great leader.
US media definitely doesn't accurately represent what a lot of people here are really like so it is still not a true representation. I know that how where I live is portrayed on the media is completely inaccurate so I assume it is inaccurate for other places and people as well.
I've had friends move here from other countries, and they expected Americans to all have blond hair and wear cowboy hats. They got a rude awakening.
Exactly, I would love to travel but I am struggling to pay for school right now and I certainly don't have anything extra for an expensive plane ticket. And believe it or not, some of us Americans do watch movies and news and read books from other countries... And at school I definitely interact with students from other countries and hear first hand what life is like where they live.
They aren't expensive. You can fly pretty much anywhere "popular" for 500 bucks a ticket if you look hard enough. Go to Indonesia or Thailand and live for 15 bucks a day. It isn't hard.
I have always wanted to go to cuba. F'N U.S. and their BS have to bounce around or boat lol maybe? Never looked into it after i herd a friend mention his fathers trip costs and it was 3x. I would have to say that list was one sided and made by a small group. The crap the feed us from both ends about these this country or that is just that. So what if south america makes money from blow, The cartel pays their bills and put back into the country. But all i see is them killing aat will etc and yes it happens, But just like the ol' usa, They hit EVERY shooting with media to blow it out of proportion. I'd have to say that the 'american way', Has scared most from international travel. As mentioned movies, news, 60 mins etc along with this is a good one and this is bad in school. I never bought into it but might travel somday, But i dont fly. Never have and never will.
I don't think it's fear. Not travelling is a momentum thing - it's hard to get started but once you figure it out it isn't very tough to go somewhere new.
I think there might be four groups within that list, and within each four groups there really isn't much in it. A few even tie. It would be interesting to know how all of us would list them. Would Iran inevitably find itself on the bottom - regardless of our own prejudices. Would countries be just placed anywhere to not show that we have no prejudices? I dunno. I hope I'm a fairly reasonable person, and balance things etc etc blah blah - but I'd still put Iran at the bottom of the list.
At least they get a mention. Wahhh, its like we dont even exist. And yet Canada gets first mention, a country that doesnt actually exist
I know you can stay in a lot of countries around the world for just a few dollars a day but I recently did a lot of searching for plane tickets and couldn't find a single international flight under a grand. Maybe it was the time of year - I was searching for the August time frame.
I'll play roulette for ya. http://www.cheapoair.com/Default.as...fs=0&dd=08-03-2013&rd=08-25-2013&tt=ROUNDTRIP Roundtrip to San Salvador in August. $401 including taxes. I recommend the cocaine.
because it suits them ta say that.cos they don't want people to know that palestinians are not terrorists, just brave rebel soldiers defending their lands an people, from terrorism.
I fly from Vancouver to London in the middle of July and my ticket was 500 dollars and a return flight to Beijing (with a layover in Russia for a few days was less than 700). Although work comps me the second one. Book early and they are cheaper. Fly Budget airlines. Hitchhike to hubs so you have no connecting flights. Avoid airports with high fees for planes. EDIT I just checked the details on my flight. Berlin - Beijing: 642.90 (but I get up to 750 dollars paid for so I didn't look very hard). Vancouver - London: $715.52
