Hugo Chávez is no more. The cause of freedom, socialism and humanity has lost a courageous champion. He died on Tuesday, March 5, at 4.25 pm local time. The news was announced by Vice President Maduro. The President was just 58, and had been 14 years in power. He has been battling cancer for the last two years, but when news of his death was announced, it came as a shock.

I was sad about his dead too. I don't agree with everything he stands for, but I respect him and as someone who comes from Latin America and understands how most governments there work, I found him inspiring and a billion times better than the corrupt government from my country.

I had this documentary by Oliver Stone for over a year and I just managed to watch it today, it's called South of The Border and it's definitely not a great documentary, but interesting to watch. I thought most of it had a lighthearted approach which was nice. I plan to watch Speaking Freely: Vol 5 next because Netflix tells me so.

I also have friends from Venezuela and I also been there and whilst most of them are not Chavistas, they did mostly support and respect what he did, especially for the poor and in the way of education.

Where he got medical care is much less relevant to me than what his fellow countrymen think about his policies.

Yes, that's the impression I always got too. I also find that the impression that people have [FONT=&quot]In Latin America and what people in other places (in particular here in the US) think of him to be extremely different and I’m not speaking what the young more liberal and progressive think, but what my parents, uncles and grandparents who are all conservative think. This new Pope is echoing Chavez about taking care of the poor. He won't last long. The poor are of no concern to those that could alleviate the conditions under which they live worldwide. He better watch himself.
