hey i was just wondering when people do like long hikes such as the appalachian trail, what do you do about transportation? like if you parked your car at point A and reached your destination at point B, do you have to get a taxi or train or something? same with regular week long excursions, would you just hike in a loop and come back to your car?
or get someone to pick you up at such-and-such a time at the trail's end, who will drive you back to your starting point.
see i will be going far away from my house, so i dont think it would work to have a friend drive a long time just to come pick me up. but yeah i figure ill just hike back to my car, anyone with good scenic trail suggestions?
do the oregon trail if you really want a good hike. just a suggestion. check out our website www.co-operativeeffort.com
There are two types of trails: through hikes and loops. Loops will bring you back to the same trailhead you started at and through hikes will get you from point A to B. If you don't want to mess with transport, do a loop or a through hike that you'll want to back track on. A lot of through hikes have some sort of transport system in place like buses. hell, in a lot of hiker friendly towns, hitchhiking isn't a problem. Just call the parks station where you want to go and they'll point you in the right direction. Peace
