Seems I have developed a hydrocele on one of the little generals. Before I went to California the last time ,I went to the pee-pee clinic to find out what to do about it. Doc says "I can take care of it right now if you want". "Uh-OK. What are you going to do?" Says "Just pull your pants down, lie up here on the table and I'll drain it". Huh. Not sure how that works, but I follow his instructions. He leaves the room, while I'm lying there with the nurse gazing at the lovely generals and me wondering what's coming next. Although ,I have an idea.

Doc re-enters the room with a VERY LARGE needle set up and says--"OK,just relax now". Yeah-well--that's not going to happen!!

So basically I'm stiff as a board thinking about what's coming and sure enough--he sticks that big-ass needle right into my sweaty little tea-bag[IMG].

He drains out some liquid that looks like clear water and says "this is temporary, but if it comes back,I'll fix it in a permanent way". Hmmm. What does that mean,I wonder. Damnit,it means that either I invest in a wheelbarrow to lug 'em around or he has to cut me open and--jeez--ahhh--damnit.

Why me?? They were just dangling there looking sort of cute ,if ineffectual and now they need so much more attention than I ever wanted for them!! Oh, Woe is me. [IMG]

In an orchiectomy, the scrotum is cut open (A). Testicle covering is cut to expose the testis and spermatic cord (B). The cord is tied and cut, removing the testis (C), and the wound is repaired (D)

Orchiectomy is the surgical removal of one or both testicles, or testes, in the human male. It is also called an orchidectomy, particularly in British publications.

are usually done under local or epidural anesthesia

    From Wikipedia:
A hydrocele testis is the accumulation of fluids around a testicle, and is fairly common. It is caused by fluid secreted from a remnant piece of peritoneum wrapped around the testicle, called the tunica vaginalis. It can be the result of cancer, trauma (such as a hernia), or orchitis, and can also occur in infants undergoing peritoneal dialysis. It may be treated surgically. Hydroceles are usually not painful, but neither are testicular tumors. A common way of diagnosing a hydrocele is by attempting to shine a strong light through the enlarged scrotum. A hydrocele will usually pass light, while a tumor will not.

So get your fleshlights (I mean flashlights) out folks... ;)

Thanks Skip. Yeah,my doctor took a damn flashlight and my sack lit up like a xmas tree! So--no cancer. Always had big suckers anyway,(literally and figuratively!) but this will not stand.
