Online Dating Websites

I wasn't sure where to put this but this seems like the best place for it:

Why do SO many people seem like they do NOT know the DIFFERENCE between a list of what they like and a self-summary?~ Do you even know what a self-summary is and the reasons people go on online dating websites in the first place?~ I joined online dating websites so I could know MORE about WHOM I'm dating BEFORE I even CONTACT THEM.~

Telling me you like to do this and you like to do that tells me NOTHING about WHO you are as a person, tell me how you feel about gender, or sexuality, or sex, or love, or environmentalism, or other non-Human-animals, or about ANYTHING, DON'T just tell me you "are an environmentalist", tell me WHY and HOW IT MAKES YOU FEEL, please be HONEST ABOUT YOURSELF otherwise I would feel like I'm dating a "list-of-likes" and NOT a PERSON!~

well it's not like you're getting married based on the profile; it's just a general idea of who shares some interests with you, so you can go on some dates with them and learn about who they are then.

 

Unfourchantly, many people tend to use the "cut-and-paste" method of looking EXACTLY or at least VERY SIMILAR like EVERYONE else's profile.~

Also, if I wanted to or had the time to talk to or date every single person just to find out some things about them that might or might not have us positively repulse each other, things they could have easily put on their profile, then I would just randomly date every person I saw crossing the street or simply saw at any time everywhere.

There would be no point in going onto an online dating website when it doesn't help me anymore than covering my eyes and randomly pointing at someone and then be like, "MMM...OK!~ I'll date YOU!~" ^_^~

 

Ah, that's ok.~ I hope that with my profile, people will be more inspired to be more honest about themselves!~ ^_^

I'd rather a list of likes and dislikes than when they write nothing at all on their profile and expect to get replies based on their pictures.

 

Ask yourself if you want to be with someone who has the kind of imagination that they cut and paste their dating profile. How do you think they're going to be in bed? In conversation? Move on

I hope people will eventually realize you're more likely to find someone "for you" who likes you for YOU, if you simply are more honest about yourself on online dating websites and in general.~

I agree though. I think it's pretty obvious by the profile whether theyre looking for love or just a casual girlfriend or a fuck.

What you want is for the right person to read your description of your personality and the whole time they're nodding and thinking to themselves "I want someone like this in my life."

 

Now that I think about it do online dating websites really help you?~

 

I join date sites, interact like I do anywhere else on the internet.. never fails..

They do if you manage to find someone you like. What I mean is they work for some, and not for others.

I found my fiance on OkCupid.

 

That's so heartwarming to hear, maybe I'll find my fiance to and my wife to!~ ^_^ Although I don't know about marriage, maybe I'll find my loves of my life there!~ :3

 

My current girlfriend and I met on OKcupid too. It is weird we were just both looking for a hook up but it turned into a relationship. In about 5 days we will bet together for one year.

I just got to say, it seems like a miracle to me you found ANYONE on PlentyofFish, I have never met or talked to anyone more superficial, more egotistical, and more morally corrupting group of individual people on that website, mainly the forums. They basically told me the reason I wasn't getting any messages was because I was a smelly, dirty-looking, hairy, casual-looking, weird, bizarre, hippie!~

They recommended that I completely lie about myself say I am the most traditional man ever, wear a suit and take photos of that, delete everything honest about myself, and oh basically lie every time I open my mouth and I would "be with a different woman every day"!~ I'm not interested in being a fake lying "player" who fucks and leaves women in the same night, I want love and I want to be myself!~

Getting contacted was almost non-existent and "fishing"? Please..~ Once I found out what "fishing" was, I said, "What's the point of this website? I'm better off going out into the street and randomly asking people out!"~

Worst.Dating.Website.Ever.!~

I will NOT recommend this site to ANYONE!~

 

That sounds great, there aren't that many "hippie" dating websites that seem legit.~ Unless you live in the UK, though and I don't live in the UK.~ ^_^

It should be something where any one from anywhere can talk to each other, because let's face it if you think you're going to find a love life partner within 25 miles of you, let alone your own country, then you might be in for a VERY big SUPRISE!~

Then again, like you said these forums already sort of act like a dating website already, only more and that's what makes them cool cause even if you're not looking for love you'll probably find something cool anyways!~ ^_^

 

Been together almost three years! You shouldn't go in expecting to find the love of your life but if you happen to find her, then that's great. I wasn't expecting to find my future husband but things just blossomed from the start.

I actually think that's a pretty cool idea for the people here! It's unique and not like other dating sites. I'd love to see more couples get together from these forums.
