Hey a good friend of mine told me she found her nipple bleeding. It sounded so strange I told her I'd look it up on the internet for her. all the sites I found said that it might be a sign of some type of cancer. I'm worried now and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced it. she is 40-something and not pregnant or anything afew of the sights i saw werea all about breast feeding etc, but that isn't the case. anyway, help!

could it just be dry and cracked, or could she have scratched it while washing or while getting dressed?

i'm not sure, but it sounds like she should make a visit to the doctor.

Surely she has a family doctor or even a doc she's seen a couple times who she likes... I wouldn't run off to the hospital because (here at least) it takes much longer to see a real doc than making an appointment with your regular doc about something.

my nipple bled one time. but it was because I was shaving my legs in the tub and slipped. Ooh! I can still feel that sting!

anyway is the blood coming right out of the nipple or around it? It could always be dried cracked skin, but I would get a doctor's opinion.

I don't think anyone can diagnose that here!

My grandmother had this happen to her about a month ago, and she went to the doctor and he sent her to moffet cancer center and she had pre-cancerous cells removed and they put her on a cancer fighting drug so she doesnt develop cancer, the whole key with that stuff is early detection, if its the same thing now is the time to do something about it.

i talked to her about it and it has stopped bleeding, she used an abrasive scrub apparently and she thinks that did it. I'm relieved! but i did suggest that she go see someone about it. thanks everyone for your help and concern
