Hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Sometimes using military intervention is justified in order to prevent or stop genocide, but hey, at least we got to bomb the chinese embassy...
Hitler was also #2 in people of the 20th century. Kinda puts the "Bush, man of the year" thing into perspective.
if Bush is worthy of the Man of the Year then I have the entire Bolivian road system up my ass and I do
Man of The Year isn't necessarily an honor, so those of you saying that Bush isn't "worthy" need to consider what Man of the Year really means: It just means that TIME Magazine thinks Bush influenced the world, FOR BETTER OR WORSE, more than anyone else in 2004. As other people have pointed out, Hitler, Stalin, and Khomeini have all been Man of the Year too. I'm no fan of Bush, but I agree with TIME that he probably was responsible for more headlines than any other single person.
He will look at it as an honor and a confermation that the world, or at least the American people think what he his doing is right. I doubt he will think, "well Hitler got it too."
No, I think he knows that Hitler, Stalin and the Ayatollah have all got it before, if anything I think the re-election is what will get in his head when it comes to thinking the people support him.
Person of the Year is *not* an award. It's just a statement that a person did the most to make news in the past year. Many other presidents of the US have been person of the year, so I don't think Bush will see it as such a big deal. In any case, he shouldn't see it as such a big deal.
Some of the other winners are Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Winston Churchill, FDR, Truman, Pope John XXIII, Pope John Paul II, The Computer, Eisenhower -As General and President.
Yeah, and sometimes you have to use military intervention and Brown & Root to help streamline the drug trade. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, right?
