That's what I think. but you shouldn't aspire to fit within a certain label, yoy should be yourself!

As for everyone saying that kindness does nothing for you, I disagree. If someone treats tou like a doormat, walk away. You don't need to take bullshit, in order to be kind. Realize when someone uses you, and keep them at arms length if you can't cut them out.

There's a difference between being kind and being walked on.

If you are being treated like a doormat you can make clear that is unwanted behaviour. This does not conflict with being nice in any way. Even when it isn't made clear in the nicest way possible.

Very obvious so it seems

So it would seem. But not for everyone

It works for me. And it still does for a lot of people. Why do what the corporations want you to do? Why let them win? I don't give a shit what they "allow" me to do or not to do.

Surround yourself with happy kind people and don't deal with all the bullshit. I think a lot of people's problems stem from the people they associate with.

Wear some tie dye. That's something the kids are doing much better than us back in the day.

Volunteer some of your time and energy doing something for others. The spiritual part of you is pretty much the same thing that you're asking about. Hippies didn't create anything new, they just felt more free to express what they felt society stifled: individuality, and at the same time the desire to bond with others on different human levels. They learned how to release their more inhibitive personal traits while sharing them openly at the same time. Sounds kinda heavy, but in a nutshell they just learned to express themselves without feeling bad for doing it. You do the same and you'll answer your question.

All of the responses I've read on the first page are good.

My answer would be - care about stuff and live like you mean it.

If I'm being selfish or wasteful I think I'm being a bad hippie. If you just care and do things meaningfully and intentionally you will see just how good you can be.

And be kind to people. Make people smile.

if there is an inner hippie within you, you wont need to learn how to get in contact, the inner hippie will surface on its own, you either have or dont have.
