The Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet by Benjamin Hoff.

It's an inroduction to Taoism using Winnie the Pooh to explain it. I know it might seem silly, but it's a brilliant book. You'll find no better explaination of Taoism, and it is contains some brilliant advice on general good-living. It's quite an easy and witty read too, unlike many philosophy books, which are a bit too heavy and intellectual for me.

Anything by Dr. Wayne Dyer, modern age philosopher. If you wish to evolve your way of thinking in an easy to understand way...I listen to his audio books while I work.

I particularly recommend: Excuses Begone. It was the motivation needed for me to quit smoking!

Justice For Hedgehogs by Ronald Dworkin. He defends the ancient thesis of the unity of the virtues, an idea that's been neglected since the ancient Greeks. Really incredible and an easy read too.
