Instead of replying to loads of posts, I'm just going to make one big one here.

I've always been bisexual, before I even knew what the term meant. The thing was that I just went with the flow. I had a pretty laid back upbringing - I was raised by two lesbian, pot-smoking hippies. They were/are very open minded and chill, so I'm privileged in that regard. I never had to stress out and I never had to "come out of the closet" because that closet never existed. Getting into relationships with other girls was entirely natural to me and I didn't question it. Only later on, around 12 years old, did I realize "oh wait I'm bisexual, aren't I?"

(To be more technical, I'm actually pansexual, which is an important distinction to me - there are people who don't identify as any gender, people who identify as both, etc.)

I see all these posts in here and you guys are so caught up in labels. I understand you're having a hard time, but I kind of just wanted to remind all of you that your sexuality is such a tiny part of who you are as a person. Try to avoid getting so caught up in labels - at least in the beginning.

I don't think labelling yourself is bad as long as you don't stress out over it. Trying to fit your whole identity into one label is not healthy. There are always exceptions.

I just want to say - do what feels good to you, as long as it's not hurting anybody (unless you're into that kind of thing ;) )

Think of it as an experience like any other. Break out of your comfort zone a little bit. Experiment. If it doesn't feel right - don't worry, it's just not your thing. if it feels good, then great! Don't worry so much about semantics right now, just enjoy yourself and you can figure out the technicalities later on. Sexuality is more fluid than people realize.

Remember, this is all about enjoyment, don't try so hard to figure out labels, go with the flow, and love yourself and others :sunny:

    Well said sneeps!

Labels are for groceries, not for people!
